Exactly that, there's loads of times where he to basically pass it out sideways into touch as he hasn't got composure to take extra touch etc. I really don't get how fans complain about us not progressing this summer but then say it's ok Pope is more than good enough if we don't bring anyone in. I just think you have to look at the modern game and accept having a keeper with top feet is a must. -

Its not his kicking, last year he was soft for numerous goals, hes also clumsy like last week at Celtic. He's been a good servant but since his injury I do think he's not as good as he was and was ultimately we need to upgrade. In regards to his feet just look at how many times Liverpool break away directly from Alisson or City and Arsenal tbf...Pope can't distribute beyond the defence. -
Yes if he went to Saudi I'd get the heat but sadly when Liverpool come knocking players will always want to be off. The reality is Pedro, Mbeumo, Ekitike, Trafford all preferred moves to other clubs over us, it's just the reality of where we are... Always make you wonder are we better off exploring outside of the prem?
-
Yes moving to Liverpool or a bigger and better club will give him more satisfaction, he will win more trophies and earn more money... don't get caught up in because he's love by us it wouldn't be the same at Liverpool for example, they would love him and sing his name. It's our fault for not giving him a new contract... But in general I don't get why our fans think we are any different to any other fans. Loads slagging Liverpool fans off for booing Trent yet we are exactly the same with our best player
-
Also baffled by people thinking Pope is more than good enough in this thread... You can't stand still like we are. He's 4th or 5th choice for England for a reason. A team in our position has to improve
-
He's really really not, off top of my head the below are all better than Pope.. we need a top keeper it's as simple as that. Allison Ederson Pickford Raya Martinez Leno Trafford Kelleher Sels
-
Mate he's not good enough, we are a champions league team but there's 10 or more keepers in the league as good or better....
-
Starting the season with Pope as number 1 for a team in champions league is simply not good enough..
-
TBF I can't see anyone can show any hate towards Isak when the lack of strategy from the top is clear to see... Liverpool arsenal Chelsea and City all done good business and we standing still...
-
It's modern football, everything is driven by money..he's not a mercenary at all...hes been outstanding since he joined the club and help us win our first trophy in years. At the end of the day all footballers playing for a club like us will have their head turned by agents and other clubs doubling their wages. This is not new and will happen again in the years to come, if Madrid came in for Tonali on £250k a week he'd do exactly the same...
-
Well documented that he wanted a new 5 contract...give him what wages he wants, we can't attract his level of player. And if he does want to leave good luck to him..what a servant to the club, helped us win our first trophy in nearly 60 years. Same fans slagging off isak reckon Steven Taylor was legend..
-
Some fans on here and in general are deluded, a huge club like Liverpool are after a striker and can likely double his wages, he's seeing lads at Chelsea and Man utd earn far more money who couldn't lace his boots... Whether it's Isak Tonali or any squad player they'd do the same thing.. Be the same fans who booed Cabaye no doubt...

Yep was raised, club said they wouldn't be doing anything until they decided what they were doing with stadium...

Brought it up with trust mate a few times
