I went to all the champions league games last year away and honestly PSG is far better than Dortmund, it's just media perception about the yellow wall (not denying it's great). You really see the issue at SJP is that all stands are the same, we need one end where age is younger and more keen. I find football in England really is lost. I look back to the first season of us in the championship when I was in my first year of Uni and it was fucking brilliant. Young lads getting pissed causing no trouble and having a good sing song, away ends full of people who wanted to be there. I remember spurs away in cup in maybe 2014 at white hart lane, we got battered but away support was unbelievable. I actually like how some of the lower league teams have a big following of lads 16-21 who stand together and follow their team regardsless. Seems a far cry from the premier league.

I think @Whitley mag mentioned this before but there is far less young lads grouped together or go to a match full of drink wanting a sing song, reality is majority of make up at football grounds are middle aged to elderly fans/families etc. You notice it in the lower leagues, you can get 400 lads together if you want as alot of grounds are never at capacity. If you were to shift even 800 fans and put some young lads In leazes level 4 you would see a vast improvement in that stand. Watching Liverpool yesterday it's depressing how bad football in England has become, the lack of passion is shite.

A lot of the fans can't be arsed to be there, gone of days of actually wanting to go the match for the craic with the lads but more importantly to get behind the team. You see it creeping in at some away days now, there is fans who just go to say "I was there" It's not difficult though as I think small changes can make a big difference but seems like no one drives it to the club. If I was wor flags, both trusts the mag etc I'd be driving more Comms to club around safe standing or push for more answers after the last meet with club. Football is In a dire state though in this country. All grounds now you seem to have 1500 fans who get behind teams and the rest who are spectators

Very good appointment imo, some of these pundits talking fluent shit, if Howe and Potter potentially didn't want it then who do they expect to take it.
-
Blokes a whopper, remember seeing him down Sheffield United more arsed about filming videos and trying to interview people than watch the game and support team...
-
TBF Villa Park fell very flat 15 mins and until they scored last night, think it's an English problem
-
100%, I have noticed it alot this past year or so where the away fans look older than they did couple years back. Our away support in the championship years was unreal, everyone just wanted to be there for the craic and to get behind the team. Feel for a lot of those who went back then who are locked out now. Huddersfield and Burton probably 2 of my favourites seats games I've ever done

The excuses on the Mag article: *Ticket prices too high * Season ticket holders selling tickets to their mates *Tourists who never been... Rest my case

https://www.themag.co.uk/2024/10/the-atmosphere-is-bad-because-of-newcastle-united-season-ticket-holders-no-one-else/ Put this in match atmosphere thread, article I sent to the mag

https://www.themag.co.uk/2024/10/the-atmosphere-is-bad-because-of-newcastle-united-season-ticket-holders-no-one-else/ Article I sent to the mag, comments show some of idiots we have supporting us "sing instead of writing this". Others complaining about ticket prices which is bollocks as same fans who have had season ticket for years.

Sadly not with a lot of our supporters, they'll bitch and moan, there was women who kicked off massively in strawberry corner as she didn't want to stand...sad state of affairs
-
Sadly our fans aren't 'united' enough to do that..it's 'their' seat "why should I move"
-
Absolutely spot on, I just have to look who sits around me, bloke Infront fucks off at 80 mins every game, 2 other lads leave at 35 mins for pint of piss water, others around bar 5 or 6 look like it's effort being there. The point you made about standing is a real annoyance of mine as our lot CBA to move seats to help create an end. It's full of excuses..oh I can't stand anymore, I've sat here for 20 years etc etc. For the last 12 years I've drove near 600 mile round trip since moving away and still get a buzz of going to the match with the lads yet it's sad to see people CBA to stay 90 mins or to clap a winning team off. It's funny but I far enjoyed watching us in the championship in level 7 with the craic and good songbook than any of the games now which says it all...

Always the way every club slags off day trippers and tourists, the kop is all season ticket holders, the Stretford is, the leazes is.... English football fans to blame
-
Nowt will change though as we have about 30k who didn't give a fuck they just turn year in year out and refuse to change. Imagine if we made changes and actually got like minded fans together...
-
Fucking embarrassing isn't it
-
Do people forget the mistakes he makes? How anyone thinks he is better than Ederson is absolutely beyond me. Pickford and Martinez are by far better.
-
Hope there's some people in there who refuse to sit. Embarrassing
-
He's really not mind, regardless of his feet he still makes numerous mistakes.
-
Big bit on the the overlap re atmosphere today and English football atmosphere in decline due to the more "modern football fan". Mind you been saying it for ages if you added Standing next to away fans and some in leazes east stand corner would make a huge difference. Any noise started carrys in leazes issue is thousands of people in there cba to start anything. Was an easy fix in the summer but the club didn't do anything.
-
Noticed so much yesterday how nervous the back 4 feel when wanting to go back to him, times when they having to look long. His ability to kick imo gives no option but to upgrade.
-
To me the blame is on the board, since Howes appointment only City Arsenal and Liverpool have picked up more points than us. Howe clearly wanted a keeper RW and CB and we didn't get any. You can't stand still in football but we have from last season.
-
Needed upgraded in the summer, crazy we have about 5 keepers who aren't either good enough to start or be a solid back up.
-
Thought he was brilliant yesterday, his 1-2-1 is very good.
