We cross posted. I kind of responded to that in my previous post. Its true but will happen either way.

I would be all for everyone in the league being allowed to spend the same amount as the club with the highest revenue. That to me feels like the best way to level the playing field. But does not work for owners looking to make a profit out of football. The ticket price subsidy is a suggestion in the world that we are in where the amount you can spend is based of revenue. It is not a fix for everything that is wrong with FFP. Its a small tweak so fans are not punished.
-
No not artificially level ticket income. St James will sell out. It will sell out at higher prices. Demand is huge. But people should not be priced out of a ticket due to FFP meaning all commercial revenue must be maximised. This is about saying I can demonstrate that the ticket would sell for this amount if I charged it. But I do not want to sell it at this amount as it prices out fans. I also do not want to be punished as a club for making decisions that are positive for or fans. In terms of the capacity the point that you can only do this if the ground is sold out. So capacity does not matter. I would not see it as widening the gap. Clubs are increasing the ticket prices. People are getting priced out and it's only going to get worse as demand is so high. Our income will go up from tickets either way. Its just about whether we pay for it or the owners do. I also think it would force owners to be honest. It is too easy for them to say we have to up prices due to FFP. If there is this option they cannot hide behind that. If they are upping prices it is for profit nothing else.
-
Yes exactly. It's saying as a club we believe that we could change x amounts for tickets. Our demand is such that people will pay. But We do not want to screw our fans or be forced to to be competitive. Therefore we will charge them less and add the difference ourselves. This payment would be allowed ontop of the 130million permitted losses. edit: Also to allow this to happen the game must be sold out.
-
This is so easily solvable. Allow owners to inject extra cash to subsidise ticket prices. If Newcastle are charging £40 for a ticket and say Fulham were the most expensive equivalent ticket at £120 the owner can put in £80.

When transfers run like this they never end here.

- beating Sunderland and ending their season

I’m still clinging onto the hope that Chelsea turn the conference down to avoid European sanctions?

I don’t think being disappointed about the season is at all knee jerk or half empty glass. We’ve emotionally been put through it a bit this year and after the highs of last year it’s hard to take. We’ve had: - tonali ban - injuries - champions league draw - dodgy last minute penalty agains psg - losing against Liverpool against 10 men when a player who can’t score finds 10 minutes of form - being half an hour or so from champions league group qualification to lose it then also miss out on going into the uefa cup - league cup draw - fa cup draw - being minutes away from getting though against Chelsea to lose on penalties - losing director of football - new director of football turning us down - thinking we would get Europe not getting Europe as city lose their first game in 30 odd - no sponsorship deals - no news on new training ground - no news on st James Next year I’d just like a bit of luck. Not losing any big names. Some decent signings and not losing out on our targets. Some progress off the field. And something to celebrate.

I fucking hate football. man United are shite. Yet have two trophies in a couple years and we have nothing in my lifetime.
-
Man City must hate the fact we need them to win therefore jinxing their double.
-
It took them 9 months to investigate and the first one was in 2022. There could still be an investigation open on Tonali for his Villa one for all we know.

I guess us finding out the reason for Ashworth's arbitration may have motivated us to go looking for emails etc. So him being a dick could well have triggered something far worse for him as he should now be personally open to being sued.

Worked for me maybe it relies on someone with an account having done it. This full article was cached 4 hours ago for me.

The club directly contacts the fans. Season ticket holder and members. Have a third tier if needed. Emails. I'd also like the club to have a government style question/petition thing. If you ask a question and it gets enough votes then it's discussed in a meeting and replied to. Maybe there are better ways to do this. But there has to be ways that the club and fans can communicate without a middle man.
-
100% agree. The club should set up better direct channels of communication with the fan (and to be fair they are tying). All the trust is a way to give a few people views more perceived weight to the club as in theory they are representing 10,000 members. Ultimately they are not though. When pressing issues like ticketing for the final occur they express their own opinions. They did not get the opinions of the members. I think an organisation like the trust can be useful when there is a breakdown between the club and its fans. If the club are not actively trying to engage with the fans. But to be honest when we were in that situation the trust position themselves as “not a protest group”. They did very little to help with Ashley(I doubt anyone could have) and when they had a meeting with the Premier league they were utterly useless. I appreciate that the members of the trust board may well be trying their best but the entire organisation should just be dissolved.

the club being inert could be true as well. I’m just hoping there is a reason for it. My thinking is the advantage could depend on how the deal is paid. If it was all upfront then getting that on first of ffp would leave it in the ffp tolling 3 year period for an extra year.
-
I hope we’re playing possum. If we were really close breaking the rules I think we would have announced training ground and kit sponsors to put us in the green this year. My hope is that there is advantage to announcing these and getting the first payments in the next 3 year rolling period. I’m thinking that if signed something now and got a big payment it would put us in the green ffp wise by a big margin which wins you nothing. On a three year rolling period this would also drop out sooner. I’m thinking if you sign a 2 year 11 month deal right at the start of the ffp financial year it could be a win. I’m not an accountant so could be off. But I just can’t think of any other reason why we’ve not maximised all income streams yet. If we sign some straight after I think that will show this is thinking true.

in a position like his you’ve got to be an idiot to think if you send am email like that and it wont end up in the public domain. He could have achieved the same by talking to heads of departments and allow those people to sort the situation. So he’s either an idiot or he chose to send it knowing it would be leaked.

time will tell but I do feel like Man Utd fans are feeling about Ratcliffe like we did when Ashley took us over. We were desperate for change. Money was being leeched from our club. Ashley came in and made the right noises. Anything he did was praised. Then reality sunk in and we realised what we really had. There are so many red flags with Radcliffe that are just being ignored and even being celebrated (especially by amphibians). Man Utd have all of the advantages and anything less than consistent year on year title and Europe contention should be seen as failure. Let’s see what the situation is in a couple years.

I’m watching the game back now. He did keep it in. Then played it off a player for what would have been a corner. Maybe it’s my ignorance of the rules but I didn’t think a ref could stop play and give a free kick to a team for a dive.

Burnley 1-4 Newcastle United (4/5/24) - Post-match reaction from page 31
KetsbaiaIsBald replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
I’m sure the commendation said something like they only had 1 player from their championship team. We had 2 on the bench from ours and one came on as a sub. -
Did he stop the game to book Wilson? I thought he’d might have kept it in after getting up.
