One positive of the premier league again putting unlawful rules in could be to completely undermine the current process of the rule decision making process. They have approved unlawful rules and now potentially knowingly voted in more unlawful rules. let’s see what Man City’s next step is.
-
The same way it did the first time. I see it like: 1. the premier league and its lawyers wrote the original rules. The rules included that loan interest would not be included. 2. Man City disagreed and took them to a tribunal 3. the tribunal agreed and said the rules were unlawfaul 4. The premier league now writes rules that say loan interest will be included after a grace period. Their lawyers will argue that this is lawful somehow. 5. Man City will take them to a tribunal again and say loan interest even for a grace period is unlawful 6. logically I would think Man City would win. If something is unlawful then surely it is unlawful for a grace period. By the premier league putting the grace period in it will win votes. Everton are being bought out so their situation will change by the time the grace period is over.

I agree You have the premier league deliberately writing the rules with the priority being votes not legality.
-
Because then there will be new rules that the tribunal have not declared unlawful. So they will apply. Man City will have to start another case to have these new rules also declared unlawful. The tribunal have ruled that loans must be included. They have not ruled whether giving a grace period for the loans is unlawful.

I agree. Some clubs hopefully will agree and vote against the new rules until after the tribunal. The premier league board do not seem to agree. I guess it's not their money that is being spent.

I hope so. Given time does not seem a huge priority the next step could be we’ve decided new stadium and are going for Leases park. Then they start working with the council. Plans can be drawn up for the actual stadium that will no doubt look fantastic. This gets people minds softened on moving. If Leases park cannot be done they look slightly further. That way the club are not the bad guys the council is. Fans will have fallen in love with the idea and stadium so what’s an extra 10/15 minute walk…

I was thinking the same. But this sentence has me thinking it could be a little further: I’d see leaves park as hardly even putting tension into the band.

I’m convinced the vote will pass on Friday. The premier league have been working with clubs to find rules that they are happy with. The deferral of the interest free loans appears so obviously unlawful but it will be there to win votes. Everton, for example ,with that rule that suits them may vote for the rule when otherwise they would not. The whole process just seems flawed. There does not appear to be any “punishment” for having unlawful rules. The premier league has had them for what? 18 months? If the vote passes everyone will have to conform to the new rules lawful or not. Man City will start another case. It will take a year. Let’s say they say it is unlawful again, then what? Rinse and repeat? This appears to be the premier leagues tactics, get rules in place that 16 clubs agree with whether they are lawful or not.

That single tweet shows how the rules simply don’t work. Whether something is lawful or unlawful isn’t the priority.

excellent. The premier league, who played the do not approve do not reject delaying tactics, are now being slowed down themselves. Man City’s arguments see rational. if a rule is unlawful putting that exact rule in for a transition period is also unlawful! Also nice move to forward the premier leagues letter to them to everyone else as well. Bit of transparency.

Nope. I should probably put more smileys on my messages so people don't take me too seriously! The stats thing was just tongue in cheek. On Tonali IMO he is not performing well in our setup. It's really frustrating. We see flashes but I think he should be at near Bruno levels. At a minimum he should be involved in the game for the majority of the time he's on the pitch. In reality he disappears for long periods of time. The answer is not to stop playing him but I don't know what the answer is. He seems to like a lot of one touches but then he doesn't get enough of the ball for that. My fear is that he's a player we never see then best of and he's a superstar somewhere else. Hopefully Howe finds a formula that clicks for him and the overall team soon.

Statistically the correct decision….

Get in there. my tv seems to have muted stadium sound.
-
It does. I guess Carsley is just like well he’s got in Howes team. That’s good enough for me.
-
I want Watkins to do well. He looks a world beater on highlights. He just seems to mess up simple things and squander half chances. He got the goal so i guess I'm being hash. But I just think he should have done more.
-
His name does not do him justice.
-
Come on Hall! Did not expect this.

👍 My post wasn’t a dig at posting that was just trying to be funny at the goal.

It was just so off. I was convinced we were avoiding the conditions to have to buy him. he looks absolutely class now. I rewatched the weekend game and I think he lost the ball twice. His changes of pace in defence either gave us nice possession or put in the offensive a few times. He still needs to work a bit stopping crosses but that’s near impossible to get 100% so maybe I’m being harsh.

Some goal that. Cracking finish.
