  1. Whatever the issue is with Trippier, maybe it's been an issue for a while and would explain his haphazard performances over the last few games. Obviously it's just a wild guess by me and could be so far away from the truth.
  2. It's time to take the plunge and start to bed in the youngsters and loan outs. Ben Parkinson maybe needs to be thrown right into the deep end and see if he can turn into a young goal getter. It almost seems like we've bought a sick note in Isak. Hopefully it's just a case of adapting and ironing out the issues, injury wise because he's a phenomenal player. Wilson, as has been said, is a bit part player anyway but certainly a very useful impact player. There's a few ways to look at this. An early season set back whilst plugging on for a while and a late surge when all players are fit and basically ready to go as fresh starts for the run in when other club's player's start to be crocked. All is not lost as of yet so I'll keep the faith and hope for the season.
  3. I think there will be a drastic change in any contracts from this point on for any player sighing for a club. Loads of things like this covered and a whole lot more, most likely.
  4. It'll be interesting to see if AC Milan knew about all this with Tonali. When I look back I do remember all kinds of rumours he didn't want to go from Milan but they did seem keen to offload him. Obviously it's just all speculation by me....but. If we lose him for the season we can take it on the chin but if he gets a 3 year ban then it's game over. Will Newcastle be left well out of pocket? I'd like to think we won't be. I'll wait and see what comes out in the wash and decide as to what I might think of Tonali.
  5. Tonali has been at the club 5 minutes. Many players take time to bed in and find their feet. I'm sure Tonali will. He's not looking too bad as is but we can all see there's a hell of a lot more in his locker which will come to the fore over the season, I think.

    Nick Pope

Pope is human and all humans make mistakes, even the very good ones. Pope is an excellent keeper and is a massive part of why we are where we are. Of course Popes game isn't perfect but then again he's dealing with a lot more pressure to be as perfect as some over expectant fans want him to be. We paid 10 million for this lad and he's every bit as good and much better than 95% of keepers in the premier league. I wouldn't swap him just yet. His game can get even better, I think.
  7. Newcastle United 4 PSG 2. A hat trick for Isak tonight with a Longstaff goal in with it. Two of Isak's goals will be penalties. This game is won after PSG have a man sent off and an early injury to Mbappe 6 yellow cards and one red. What do you all think of that then.
  8. Liverpool shouldn't get any replay. They've had many a decision go their way and so have a lot of the bigger clubs. What should happen is massive lessons are to be learned from this and basically it should be a last chance saloon for any officials that do this monumental phook up. A simple answer to this is to simply verify any decision made. Is it offside? No. So it's a goal. Yes. Just to clarify, I give the goal ? Yes. Until that happens there should be no ball in play until it's sorted, whether it takes 1 minute or 5 minutes. I know it can hamper a game but let's face it, it's better to get it right and not be potentially costly to a club than to allow this silliness to carry on with more and more later excuses being made. VAR is an excellent tool and so is a decent hammer, but if the work people keep bending the nails and blame the hammer then you find someone who can hammer the nail home. I do go all the way around to get to a certain point.
  9. He's got some knob about him that lad. He said: mirror mirror on the wall, make my knob touch the floor, so his legs fell off.
  10. If Eddie Howe has no worries about playing Lascelles then neither do I. This kind of change and bringing squad players to the fore can basically reinvent the player and bring a much needed extra strength. I think it's a tribute to players like Lascelles and Dummett that they can come in after so long on the sidelines, to come in and do the job they've done. It's massively encouraging for me.
  11. Eddie's not going to show his hand just yet so anything's possible. We've seen this before where players were said to be carrying niggles and stuff and then they start, so I wouldn't be shocked to see anyone bar Willock and Botman start.
  12. Nice one, maybe I did.
  13. It's great when you have someone with the class and tenacity and the overall feel good factor of someone as seasoned as Trippier.
  14. I think just about everyone is paying attention to what you have done up to now. You have a top class manager and some top players who have started to gel so nobody is going to think you are an easy touch in any game. This league will be the toughest for years, I think. I don't think any club is going to walk through it, even though Man city are always touted to do that. I'll still take Newcastle to finish above Villa but then again I would say that.
  15. Does anyone actually know if Bruno does have a 100m release clause or it it simply speculation? But even if he did I'd hazard a guess it would be specifically for Real Madrid to trigger it (think that's his dream club...is it?) I mean, can you imagine someone triggering it who are not fancied by him. Surely he can turn that down, so something must be specific in the contract, assuming the rumours are legit.
  16. I'm just going to enjoy the build up and the game and just hope we give them something to think about. The stadium will be rocking and the players will be pumped up and psyched up. Come on Newcastle. May the force be with you.
  17. To be totally honest, yes I do think someone could easily make a conscious decision to cheat any team out of a goal. It's not like the game's not corrupt. Surely people can't believe it's all above board. Maybe...just maybe it was a monumental error but I just don't believe it was a monumental error throughout, by all. As for incompetence in the game, I agree there's a lot but this goes way beyond just incompetence for me.
  18. I can't stand Klopp and Liverpool at the best of times and I agree they get more than their fair share of bias towards them. Yeah you could call it bias and not cheating but for me the two go hand in hand. It seems the audio was played and it still stinks to me but then again that's just my opinion on it.
  19. I don't buy into the miscommunication bit. Maybe the ref and linesperson can be given the benefit but not those two at the VAR post. It's more suspect because they won;t release the audio.
  20. There's no doubt Liverpool were cheated out of a legitimate goal. And I do mean cheated. No way was that an error. It was blatant cheating. Having said that I was over the moon when it was chalked off because Klopp is an up his own arse maniac who generally gets so many dubious decisions his way because officials don;t seem to want to be on the end of his maniac out bursts. Let's change this around. If Tottenham had that same goal chalked off and Klopp was asked what he thought, he'd likely play it down and not give a flying puck. Regardless of it being LIverpool though, the bigger picture is simply, the people in charge of VAR and ref's should be under no illusions from this point on, about the scrutiny they are under and the eyes will be on the cheating in all games. Most of the bigger teams get the rub of the green with many of the so called smaller clubs getting the rough end. We we're generally cheated on far too many occasions until Staveley and co got stuck into the bias against Newcastle and now we seem to get a better end of the deal. However, it shouldn't be about anyone getting the better deals. It should be about all getting a fair deal with officials having to actually explain immediately any dodgy looking decisions. Oh..and Curtis Jones's red card was justified but it wouldn't surprise me for him to get it rescinded to atone for the blatant cheating of their disallowed goal.

    Not sure about that one.
  22. Eddie got us into the champions league. We've played 6 games this season, 5 in the premier league and 1 in the champions league. We have 6 points from 5 very tough fixture starts. One hiccup against Liverpool which we've seen all top teams do at some stage in almost every season. We have 1 point away to AC Milan with a squad of players of which three quarters of them have never played in, yet we battled for a point. If we went for it and got slaughtered Eddie Howe would be classed as past it by some fans and pundits. One thing about Eddie Howe. He learns and to get to be elite manager status you have to make mistakes and learn from them, to be better. For me Eddie Howe has a free pass this season. He has to bed in a lot of players from the start of the season to the end and not just the ones he bought but the youngsters who are teetering on the edge of the first team, like Lewis Miley as a major instance. I'm extremely happy with Eddie Howe and at this time I wouldn't swap him for any other manager when you consider we do have restraints that other clubs don't seem to have. We are the new kids on the block on the elite, favourable clubs and Eddie is still basically finding his feet in those stakes. I know most fans back Eddie and co to the hilt but there's some that appear impatient and over expectant and that's not good for anyone.
  23. Sean Longstaff is a home grown bread and butter, unsung (generally) midfielder who grafts his arse off but gets overlooked a lot due to the more technically gifted midfielders. You have a better chance to win things with players like Longstaff playing as major part alongside the bigger quality.

    Steve Harper

    Aye, get well soon Steve.
  25. I've only watched 2 up to now. I was going to watch the third after the Brighton game but couldn't face it after that shambles.
