  1. We have added Tonali (A) to midfield replacing Longstaff, Hall (B) replacing Burn at left back, Livramento (C) replacing Trippier. As well as Isak becoming World Class (A) and Gordon (B) becoming one of the best in his position, according to ratings by people on here. Yet, our football on the pitch has regressed.
  2. It doesn’t look better, so it is fair to say that we have regressed. It isn’t a controversial statement.
  3. Eddie Howe did. Do you think our football looks as good this season compared to the 22/23 season?
  4. Do you think our football looks as good this season compared to the 22/23 season?
  5. Of course I do. I support Newcastle United, not like some people on here who seem to support Eddie Howe FC.
  6. If we fail to qualify for the Champions League and Forest do he can have more than a few months off.
  7. I don’t think we will find out, because I don’t see a top club coming in for Howe.
  8. Howe and Tindall got them relegated ffs.
  9. It was great while it lasted but we have regressed massively as a team.
  10. Which makes what he has done even more impressive. He came in, had a squad of players that were used to playing an awful style of football and had to coach them to play the style he wanted. They now play some of the most entertaining football in the league.
  11. He delivered them their highest ever Premier League points total last season.
  12. Bournemouth fans think Howe is a club legend, but you won’t find many who think he is a better manager than Iraola.
  13. I thought it was a good interview and he makes valid points, especially about what would happen if he failed to qualify for Europe for 2 seasons running, which is a point I have made on here a number of times. I would go further and say he could be in trouble if we don’t qualify for the Champions League and miss out to Nottingham Forest, but maybe winning the cup will save him for a period, like it did for Ten Hag. What doesn’t get mentioned, and what I think is the reason some sections of the fan base get on Howe’s back when we lose, is that we play some really unattractive football for the vast majority of our games and have since the start of last season, with a scattering of memorable performances here and there, or individual brilliance by Isak. People will tolerate our style of football if we are winning, but will call out terrible displays and performances when we lose. You would think it would make it difficult for the club commercially too, as we are not going to attract foreign fans to support the club and buy merchandise with performances like against West Ham on Monday, even though we won. Maybe they will bring someone in to try and freshen it up, if they do then you have to hope it is someone that plays attractive football.
  14. Couldn’t have asked for a better result, 120 minutes and completely deflated at the end of it.
  15. The other clubs you are referring to do everything, they have a history of winning trophies and regular qualification for the Champions League. West Ham is another good example, what do you think winning the Europa Conference did for their global brand?
  16. A one off carabao cup win isn’t going to make much difference to a global brand, see the likes of Swansea and Birmingham for that. Champions League qualification brings in big money, allowing the club to spend more on transfer and attracting better players. It is still on the club to build on that but it is the springboard to better things and popularity globally. Spurs are a great example of that.
  17. Agree with this, we are not going to close the financial gap and attract the best players by winning the Carabao cup. Not that it should be one or the other. However, you seen with Ten Hag’s Man Utd last season that winning a cup can be a good distraction from failing in the league, but once the celebrations are over it ultimately catches up with you.
  18. No reason why we shouldn’t go on a run of 5 league wins in a row, all against bottom half teams and the away games are West Ham and Leicester. We need the points on the board with some difficult away days at the end the of the season.
  19. It was surprising at how little energy West Ham have in midfield, not only are they easy to dominate but they can’t get up to support Bowen or Kudus.
  20. Difficult to pick a stand out player with that performance. Probably Bruno as the goalscorer.
  21. Oliver Scarles looks quality for someone just breaking in to the first team.
