Might be able to get him for around £45 million.
-
He plays in a midfield three but is the main link up player in transitions when Bournemouth attack, the thing with him is that not only is he good going forward but he also puts in the work that Howe would want from a pressing point of view. Bournemouth have Alex Scott who will slot in if he is sold, such is their football club model of turning players over.

I can see it being Justin Kluivert as he ticks a lot of boxes, including running rings around us last season.
-
Enciso from Brighton would be a good pick up for the extra midfielder, offers us something we don’t have through the middle and bags of potential to develop.
-
They signed a forward at the beginning of the year and loaned him back to Lorient, who has now joined up with them for this season. All very dodgy, West Ham apparently offered £35 million for the player but he ended up joining Bournemouth for £10 million. The same individual owns Bournemouth and Lorient.

Having digs at us attracts lots of likes on Twitter at the moment, fans of the sky six enjoying the pile on. Up to the club and players to prove people like this wrong.

He looks about as elegant as Obafemi Martins. Hopefully he can develop if he comes here.

Arguably it is the season that we should have been looking to move Joelinton on, as his value will likely crash from this point, but I think it is reasonable to bring in a project player with the view to them replacing Joelinton in the starting eleven. With PSR we can’t be too idealistic on how we do things, especially when the players we want to replace are bringing in little in the way of finances we can use to replace them.

Going in to the window, I wanted a big upgrade in starting RCB and RW, plus cover for Wilson, a Longstaff replacement that could be a project player and a long term replacement for Pope. We have the upgrade at RW and I’m happy with Ramsdale who will go on to be an upgrade on Pope, which we can make permanent. Wissa would also be better than expected as Wilson’s replacement. I don’t know enough about Thiaw but I wouldn’t say he was of the calibre of player I was hoping for based on reputation. There is also no sign of a midfielder for depth either, although Seung Soo looks a good pick up. Sadly, Isak and his behaviour has dominated the window to a point where you just want the window to close, and there will be little positivity until we get closure on the situation.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Defence was nowhere, it was Tonali chasing back. -
I haven’t seen anything of him to form an opinion on him or his value as a player. However, knowing that he is someone we have been interested in for over a year I don’t know why we have waited until a week before our season starts to make this move. He could have been signed 2 months ago and given time to bed in to the squad. I don’t think we know what we are doing.

You see videos of a strikers 40 last shots etc and they usually look terrible, but the video of Strand Larsens all attempts last season is impressive, not just for his strength but his movement in the box. Considering how little Wolves create you would think he could potentially get 20 goals for us with the chances we will create for him. He even does well when the box is packed.

Jackson to Spurs and Solanke comes here.

This summer has been an absolute disaster so far, and it is staggering that he went to war with Paul Mitchell over transfers, came out on top only for him and his team to serve up this complete shit show over the summer. Mitchell must be at home laughing his head off at the shambles how our summer window has turned out, comedy gold for anyone who is not a fan of the club and a complete embarrassment for us. Isak should have been told to get his head down and we would look at any transfer for him towards the end of the window, after we had done all of our other business and a replacement was lined up. Instead we have let the signing of a CB and CM be placed on hold whilst we stumble around in slapstick fashion like we have Fred Karno’s army leading our transfer activity. It isn’t too late to turn it around, but as it stands, the 2025 transfer window is looking like an Eddie Howe disasterclass, you can’t demand control only to have your team make such a shambles of it and you can’t use it as an excuse if our season suffers because of it. If you insist on having your nephew run the show then you have to take responsibility when the nepotism leads to us going backwards. Time to tell Isak he is staying and focus on significant upgrades for Wilson, Longstaff and Kelly, which shouldn’t be hard.

I have a lot of time for Slot after the way he behaved after the game, he came across like Pep in how humble he was. A big step up on Klopp personality wise.
-
I’m starting to warm to him a little bit more after that.

I had yesterday off as holiday as I knew Sunday was going to be a heavy day out, but the hangover has stretched in to today so they can have some presenteeism from me until I feel fully functional, because I won’t be doing much.
-
I will take that as a yes.
-
Hopefully we can recover again and qualify for the Champions League this season.

Our brand of football is currently on par with Ten Hag at Man Utd, there is no real structure to what we do at all.
-
Don’t take this the wrong way but do you follow us exclusively on ceefax? Because I cannot believe anyone who watches us thinks our football is at the level of 2022/23.
-
We played fantastic football during the 2022/23 season, our press and intensity in play was up there with any team in the league, as well as the interchange between Joelinton and Willock down the left, and the link up play with Bruno, Almiron and Trippier down the right. We don’t play to that standard anymore, not anywhere near.
