Quite a few people were commenting on his performance in the match thread. We all want him to do well but we should also be able to call out a poor performance when we see it.
-
I thought he was quite poor today and his passing was sloppy, he doesn’t seem to have much of an understanding with his team mates either but I’m sure that will come. I think Howe might phase him in over a longer period unless we have an injury crisis.
-
I think it’s too early to say if Howe has the ability to bring youngsters though considering Anderson has only made 3 league starts, I hope he can since the investments we are making in the youth team.
-
We are starting to see what an intelligent player he is with his movement off the ball. There was a feeling when he played for Everton that he was a head down and run type player but he has so much more to his game than that.
-
What I like about him is how he picks the ball up and carries it forward through opposition players, he is so difficult to knock off the ball.

Anderson should be in the starting eleven for the Villa game. -

I like how he is developing in to a box to box midfielder, he doesn’t look out of place. -

Gordon has had a good game so far, Tonali hasn’t. -

Tonali looks completely off the pace. -
Fifth fastest in the league. The only defender in the top ten is Kyle Walker, as CB’s are just not as quick as forwards in general. It is why tactical adjustments are more important if you are playing against a team that play the long ball over the top for quick attackers, like we did at home against Brighton last season.

Andersen passes the shit house test. Sign him up.

Worrying.
-
Looked deflected from one of the angles.
-
We should offer them Targett.
-
I think they will, to the point that I can see the atmosphere amongst opposition fans being so bad that he could easily be assaulted on the pitch if he scores and celebrates.

Greenwood not being a rapist is like Prince Andrew not being a nonce. The issue with the law is that for one reason or another people with excess wealth can influence other people to withdraw charges and statements. Man Utd are a club that have carefully cultivated their public imagine over the years and that is about to go out of the window.
-
Both goals are penalties but he has ability.
-
I think it was the Chelsea friendly in the second half where we had Isak, Gordon and Joelinton playing wide left at different points. It is difficult to pick runners up that way.
-
Even more so that we signed a LW and a back up RB in January.
-
The nice thing about this signing is that there is a long term plan in place for the position, like a changing of the guard.
-
It isn’t about people never being happy, it is about people wanting to see the club build on this success and push forward by strengthening those positions where they believe we are at our weakest. If you don’t do that and everyone around you does then the likely hood is you fall away. We can’t rest on our laurels if we want to be considered a threat to the establishment clubs.
-
He can see both of those things and still realise that they are the weakest positions in the first team now we have upgraded in midfield. If he doesn’t then where does he see the weaknesses? If we don’t improve the first team then we go backwards, as our rivals will continue to improve. I like how we lauded Ashworth coming in to bring in similar signings like he did at Brighton and now we can’t find a better left back in world football who is better than Dan Burn for less than £40 million!
-
That doesn’t justify not improving our worst positions in the starting eleven though, teams were targeting Burn in the second half of the season and they will do it again.
-
If we are getting battered down our left hand side in the first four games by Diaby, Silva, Salah and Enciso then it’s fair to ask why we are starting the season with Dan Burn at left back instead of upgrading on the position, since it is a clear weakness in the starting eleven.
-
Surely that is the reason to sign better players though, to give us a better chance of beating the more difficult teams.
