Clearly we need an "elite manager" to take us to the next level, oh and clearly Eddie can't be that manager. Need someone with an Italian name or something.

Burn is struggling a bit with Dembele, that guy is good. And very quick.
-
Sure, I get that. I just felt like pretty much all of those times it was just very unrealistic, and we lost the ball instead. I guess too optimistic is the wording I'm looking for.
-
Tonali has 58% pass success today. He keeps going for the unrealistic option. We're 3-1 up, lets have a bit of composure.
-
Havent read much here, but anyone else feel like Tonali is giving the ball away a little too often?
-
Bruno wants to throw it away. Nice.

I'm worried about Pope today.. Hope the nerves wont get the better of him.
-
What was the reason for benching him? I thought that he had done really well. Was he not fit or slightly injured?
-
It's our newest sponsor, they're back. Did you miss the memo?
-
It's clear that "chances created" stats doesn't tell you anything about how often a player loses the ball.

Manager of the season, much better than Howe etc etc. Whenever Howe was praised by someone after last season, Man United fans stepped in to preach about how much better Ten Hag was.
-
Not that it matters (I think), but why on earth did Casemiro recieve a second yellow and not a direct red in that situation? How is that not an obvious goalscoring opportunity?
-
So where did all the Onana passing stats posts on twitter go? They were everywhere after the first 2-3 games in the PL. "Fantastic distribution, so much better than de Gea" yada yada. It seemed as if they thought that they had signed the new Manuel Neuer.

It's a bit confusing because some say around £100m, while others say "in excess of". If it would be £100m blank, then I would be a little bit disappointed. If it's £115-120m then I wouldn't mind. Depends whether there's more conditions for it to trigger aswell ofcourse.

They should try Weatherspoons.

Amongst PSGs 17 most valuable players, 5 of them are french. Amongst Newcastles 19 most valuable players, 12 of them are English..

I actually thought that Sheffield goal could be important for his confidence, and then he delivered this screamer the next game. Wont take it for granted, but hope we will see something similar to what we saw the last season.

Not getting carried away by Villa, but they can very well take a lot of points from the next 5 fixtures. In that case they will be top 3 or 4 after 12 rounds, and then some people will for sure get carried away by them. I'm sure they will fall a bit when they face some tougher fixtures later, but there will be a good feeling around the club if they keep it up the next few games. Can't really look too much into the opening game.

It's such shithousery to make the player who is 100% getting sent off to wait on the pitch to see if it's a second yellow or a straight red.
-
If Wissa stayed down rolling on the floor, maybe he would've gotten the pen.
-
Looking at Villas fixture list I can already imagine the pundits discussing whether Villa is in the title race or not in about a month from now. They could very well win the next 4-5 games, and then be hyped up by the media.

Pay attention to the motion of his leg. During the entire motion he is in the process of straightening his leg out, which ultimately ends up happening, and looks like it would've happened regardless of the ball. I don't think a different angle would change much of that fact.. You can clearly see from this angle whether his leg is straight or not. I don't even think that the rules makes exceptions for when someones foot "rolls off the ball" in the first place, so it might just be a red regardless of the balls role in this.

Wasn't straight? Looks straight to me.. Anyways the fact that his foot touches the ball doesn't change the fact that he goes in with power and a raised foot, with his studs leading the way. It's dangerous play, doesn't matter whether he intended to hurt the opponent or not. Here's an image of how it looks just before his foot hits the ball, his leg is pretty straight already, and the way he went in in the first place was already dangerous:
