  1. Not getting carried away by Villa, but they can very well take a lot of points from the next 5 fixtures. In that case they will be top 3 or 4 after 12 rounds, and then some people will for sure get carried away by them. I'm sure they will fall a bit when they face some tougher fixtures later, but there will be a good feeling around the club if they keep it up the next few games. Can't really look too much into the opening game.
  2. It's such shithousery to make the player who is 100% getting sent off to wait on the pitch to see if it's a second yellow or a straight red.
  3. If Wissa stayed down rolling on the floor, maybe he would've gotten the pen.

    Anthony Gordon

    Another one in November aswell.
  5. Looking at Villas fixture list I can already imagine the pundits discussing whether Villa is in the title race or not in about a month from now. They could very well win the next 4-5 games, and then be hyped up by the media.
  6. Pay attention to the motion of his leg. During the entire motion he is in the process of straightening his leg out, which ultimately ends up happening, and looks like it would've happened regardless of the ball. I don't think a different angle would change much of that fact.. You can clearly see from this angle whether his leg is straight or not. I don't even think that the rules makes exceptions for when someones foot "rolls off the ball" in the first place, so it might just be a red regardless of the balls role in this.
  7. Wasn't straight? Looks straight to me.. Anyways the fact that his foot touches the ball doesn't change the fact that he goes in with power and a raised foot, with his studs leading the way. It's dangerous play, doesn't matter whether he intended to hurt the opponent or not. Here's an image of how it looks just before his foot hits the ball, his leg is pretty straight already, and the way he went in in the first place was already dangerous:
  8. Honestly looking back I think the first yellow on Jota was fine, and he could've had one before that aswell. The red was also fine. It was just the offside that they got horribly wrong, but also some minor situations like an incorrect free kick against Salah, missing a free kick for Spurs in a dangerous position and giving Tottenham a corner tha should've been a goal kick. Not the biggest robbery that I have seen really, considering that I think it was just one key situation that they made a mess of. However that one situation was just embarassing.
  9. I honestly think it would be better if Liverpool won, I think it will be difficult for us to catch Liverpool this season.. I think we have more of a chance at catching Spurs.
  10. Oof I would be absolutely fuming so hard if I was a Liverpool fan right now. I would never forget this
  11. I wonder if VAR referees just put too much pressure on themselves to do everything as quick as possible.. Stress can cause terrible mistakes.
  12. Incredible goalkeeper and really clinical attackers..
  13. Yes, similar but not the same. Bruno also went for the ball and it was not intentional. But I agree that this was softer.
  14. Surely that challenge on Trippier today looked worse and way more reckless..
  15. Similar to what Bruno got sent off for vs Soton.
  16. Hopefully he will get the confidence from this to keep hitting them in the next few games aswell.
  17. When the confidence is right, then yes. When his confidence is off, he can't hit the target at all.
  18. I guess it was a really bad game because we conceded a chance or two at the beginning! Could've been 2-0 down and then we would've lost!
  19. Dyche will probably be fired soon?
  20. Two footed with power and from behind. Sure, just a yellow.
  21. This is the type of game that will ruin my entire next week if we don't win it. Those chances..
