I have Maddison, Saka and Salah at the moment, but really want Son. Can't really afford him unless I take out one of those 3, or make multiple transfers spending lots of points.. I kind of hope that one of these 4 gets injured, that would make it a lot easier for me. Right now I kinda think I should just transfer Salah for Son, and take the extra money.

We've faced a Premier League side 7 rounds in a row. Last season Manchester United faced Charlton in the quarterfinals and Burnley in the 4th round (last season in the Championship), both at home. Charlton was the one draw that anyone left wanted to hit, even moreso at home. Any Premier League side could've reached the final with those fixtures. I believe Villa were not all that strong yet when you faced them at home in the 3rd round. For a Man United fan like Goldbridge to cry about the draw is insane, but maybe it's just easy to get spoiled from last seasons draws. Or maybe he is just fishing/trolling, and I'm taking the bait.. In terms of pure progression chances, drawing a League 1 side while also getting the home advantage in the quarterfinals equals maximum progression chances.

Can't wait for the excuses. Everyone else is to blame.

Yeah, and last season they won it by beating Nottingham, Charlton at home, Burnley at home and Villa at home (right after Emery joined).. And guess what, both of their draws this season have been home games.. "This would not be so remarkable had it not, incredibly, marked the 12th consecutive home draw for Manchester United in a domestic cup knockout fixture."

I just checked, and 7 of Man Citys starters had started a PL game for them this season. Only 4 of our starters had. The game really changed after some subs, but honestly even the first half performance was fine considering how we lined up.

Girona are now on top of La Liga after 7 games..

Have they watched their own team this season? Since Ten Hag took over, we've scored 19 goals more than them in the league. This media narrative about timewasting is causing other fans to assume that we are parking the bus to nick in the odd chance for a 1-0 win.

7th Premier League opponent in a row in the Carabao Cup.. Maybe it's a blessing, we're not necessarily better against League One sides.

Ofcourse I cared, but I didn't have much expectations and didn't feel nervous like I usually do when I have expectations for a game. That's what I meant.

I went from not really caring about the game to having the most positive experience watching us all season. I feel even better than what I did after the 8-0. Just so proud of the team for that second half! Bruno really needed that Sheffield United game, his confidence looks great now. Different team when he came on. Also positively surprised by the squad depth we have at the moment. Didn't realise that our reserves could perform like this. I can only imagine that this will be a nice confidence boost to the entire squad.

I don't think Howe is too worried about going out of the Carabao Cup when we have Champions League and our squad is a little thin. If Dummet is not going to feature in the 3rd round of the cup, when is he ever going to get a game? And who should've played instead? Burn, Schär and Botman has been playing every single game, and will start even more games before the international break. We might have made some promises aswell when he signed a new contract, would be odd to sign a new contract with him if the manager is never going to use you again.

What? I agree on Willock, but all 3 of our losses happened with Joelinton starting in midfield. After he got injured we have won 2 games in the league with a 9-0 GD, and got a 0-0 draw at San Siro. I hope Joelinton will return as soon as possible, but saying that we miss him so much is a bit odd considering that our midfield has improved after his injury, and the results has been good. It's like a Man City fan saying "oh we really miss de Bruyne" when they've won every single game so far without him.

I just remembered how we thought we needed an entire new midfield before Howe came in. Personally I really believed that not a single player in our squad would stay as central midfield starters long term, and that we would go on to buy an entire new midfield. Turns out all we needed to secure top 4 was Bruno, and then we moved Joelinton to midfield while Longstaff and Willock transformed. Turns out we already had 3 solid midfielders in our team under Bruce, he just ruined them all.

I agree, I remember last season when he was wide. The only times he did anything of value was when he went into positions where he would be as a striker anyways. He got himself into those positions less frequently, and stopped scoring goals as a result. Also the defensive contribution was obviously going to be really bad. Problem is that we can't play Gordon every single game, so if Joelinton is not ready soon then Isak might have to step in anyways. Unless we want to play Anderson at LW.

Howe bought Barnes so that he could take the injury instead of Gordon. Man can see the future.

In hindsight it's funny how everyone was laughing at Chelsea for trying to sign Gordon for about £60m, but when they got Mudryk for £88.5m instead and people were like "oh Chelsea are really cooking now".

Even on the Sheffield United forum there were some users saying that they were lucky not to recieve a red. It was just a yellow for me, but for sure it was a foul imo.

Apparently the rule states that if it was not deliberate, and the ball didn't come directly off his arm to the goalscorer, then it's not handball. It should be handball imo, but accoring to the rules it isn't.

I keep saying it. We've become really good at killing games, and I love that about us. So much fun when we just keep scoring. No trying to drop deep just to invite them back into the game.
