Everton did, and got less points deducted as a result.
-
Sure. The same goes the other way for Villa then. If they beat us and Man City, they are very much in it. Both of these scenarios are unlikely ones that could happen.
-
It's not about who's chasing them, and how scary they are. They need like 9 points from 7 games. They can basically lose 4 "easy" games out of 7 and still be fine. So much room for error.
-
15/16: Leicester will feel the pressure 22/23: Newcastle will feel the pressure 23/24: Villa will feel the pressure And so on.
-
If you mean City had a new signing bounce, well.. I can't see any. In fact their win against us is their single biggest win all season so far. They haven't one by 4 or more in any other league game, not even against the dreadful bottom 3 sides.
-
A bit of both I'd say.
-
My hatred for Bournemouth has gotten stronger because they turn into Real Madrid everytime we play them.
-
That Villa squad are perfectly capable of beating teams like Soton, Bou, Fulham, Man Utd and Spurs. My guess would be that none of these have anything to play for when they face them (but Fulham or Bournemouth might). They won't need to win every game. Even against us or Man City they can get something.

Looking at the last few seasons 65 points is usually enough for 5th place. If that's the case, Forest will need 8 points from these games I think it's naive at best to think that they will lose 4 of these games. Even then they'll get 66 points if they win the other 3. They are fighting for their lives, while most of these opponents are thinking about what to do in their summer holiday (an exaggeration, but you get the point).
-
They have twice the depth that we had last season. In attack they've got Ramsey, Rogers, Bailey, Rashford, Asensio, Malen and Watkins. The rest is pretty strong aswell. Their next game is a free win, and the last 4 are all pretty winnable. Again, I doubt catching Forest would be the difference maker for top 5 anyways. They won't go on a losing streak to lower table teams.
-
Exactly. Villa are a threat when we are talking about 5th place. Forest are a threat if we are chasing 3rd or 4th place, but I don't care too much about that right now. Atleast that's how I see it, as I don't think they'll start losing to a bunch of teams with nothing to play for.
-
Forest win for me. I think that even if we pass Forest, that means we are taking enough points for top 5 regardless. They've got one top 10 team left to play, and it's home against Chelsea in the last game. All the other teams have got nothing to play for, except for Palace with an outside chance for Conference League.
-
Actually annoying those reds. They will be out for their game vs City, and that also means they will get some rest before our match against them.
-
Yeah they can afford some games like this. It's not like the teams behind them will win every game either. If it was just about top 4 then they would have more of a reason to get stressed out about it, but even then, I also think they will achieve that.

What a play by Guehi there.

Everton player drags his shirt so that he falls towards him. It's a free kick if anything.
-
I still don't ubderstand the pen decision. How can VAR say that this isn't a clear and obvious mistake? We would be raging if that happened to us. I don't care that it's against Arsenal, that's a terrible decision.
-
Double Arsenal def in my team, first they concede at 90+3, and then Everton get a ridiculous pen against them.
-
That and the godlike 1 in a million Burn rocket header. It was just meant to be that day (we were the better team regardless).
-
Was that really a pen though? More of a free kick to Arsenal than a pen imo.
-
Murph was saving his aerial win for the best moment possible.
-
They've scored in 1 of their last 10 league games. A 2-1 win vs Tottenham away.
-
Going with a Newcastle winger.. With Gordon coming back, would Murphy be the safest for minutes the next few gameweeks? Really tough one, all 3 of them are at risk of losing out on minutes. I'd imagine that Gordon will come on for Barnes as a sub vs Leicester? Howe probably doesn't want to bench Isaks main supplier (Murph).

We parked the bus that day.. It was unbelievable.
