Yeah, that's fair. But they also sold Varane for £60m. Wasn't he considered to be one of the very best central defenders at the time? Or am I not remembering it correctly.

I wonder how much time the people in the VAR room spend evaluating how big the error is, and whether the error is "clear and obvious" (which is highly subjective anyways).. Seems like the main question in most situations to be honest.

Look at Real Madrid for example. It came as a surprise when they let go of players like Varane and Casemiro. Everyone gets it now why they did.

Got 150 points, but that Brighton goal cost me 10 points. Thanks Reece James.

We can't ever sell him because he used to be good 1 year ago, and therefore it would be shameful to sell him or suggest that we should sell him (according to some)

Pointed our the poor away form already in october on here, but was told by several that it didn't have any basis, because we just happened to have done poorly in the same away fixtures the season before. But, last season we won nearly every remaining away fixture, so it was just a bad comparison that had nothing to do with this season and our away form. In the end it was the away form that screwed us (injuries aside), which was what me and some others feared at the beginning.

Could've faked the shot

I can agree on that. I don't know why the clubs didn't want automated offsides for this season.

Remember all the offside goals? Saying that there are not less big errors is just wrong. We obviously hold them to a higher standard since they have the replays. Which we should. But there ARE less big mistakes. We don't remember that well how it used to be, we have gotten used to VAR.

My post had the worst timing to be honest, didn't see this.

That's because the expectations are way way higher. We complain about things we used to forget in 1 day. Try watching a bunch of highlights from games pre VAR. It was crazy. You will realise this if VAR goes away. Also, without VAR, won't the top teams get an even bigger advantage from refereeing?

Casemiro casually went from Bramble to Maldini for this one.
-
If Chelsea win today they went from being crap away 1 week ago to being 5th in the away table.
-
It's actually the rest of next season!

Remember last season when people said Newcastle only got CL because teams like Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool were shit? They all improved this season, yet 5th place will get 66 pts max (67 pts last season), and Villa will get top 4 with a worse result than what we got. In a season with 3 really bad bottom teams. What people allways seem to forget is that while some teams like Liverpool will come back, others like Man Utd will drop down again. It happens every season, yet people often expect every top club to improve before each season, and for none of the top clubs to go backwards.

Just like last season when they were chasing us at 4th but in the end finished 8th.
-
Excuse me. There are 2 games left for some teams.
-
Finally we have both strikers fit! Oh, nevermind..
-
Casemiro for example..

Just had this thought.. Saudi really helped Chelsea offload some players last summer, in which they would maybe have to let go for less or even struggle to sell. It might have helped them make some more signings, as they were at their limit, with Palmer being the last one (?). And now we might lose top 6 to them.. I just hope the Saudis don't help out our struggling rivals offload players like this every summer.

I can see a big win coming now. It was just about getting that first.

N-O forum finally supporting Arsenal. What a day to be alive.

Krafth is a weird one. We allways expect him to be shit, and sometimes he is, but more often than not he's surprisingly decent. Just does the job, nothing too fancy. Might be time to move him on, but wouldn't hate having him around if he can accept minimal playing time.

Why are you only talking about Conference? We are still top 6, which means Europa League. If we had won yesterday, Europa League would've been quite likely. That tournament is a big step above Conference League, and could actually help attracting players. Also, as @TheBrownBottle pointed out earlier, going deep in one of the smaller ones could give the same financial gain as CL group stages.
