3 assists in 2 games. He is the perfect squad player. Doesn’t cause problems, boosts morale of fans and teammates. Contributes when asked and pushes the levels of those ahead of him. When we were sending him out of loan to WBA and Sheff Wed I thought he was a goner, just didn’t see him carving out anything like the career he’s had here.

Burnley 1-4 Newcastle United (4/5/24) - Post-match reaction from page 31

Kompany “we played against a better team, simple as that”. Too right you did. -
Imperious after a shaky first 5-10. Surprisingly good upper body strength/balance to hold off challenges and wriggle away from opponents. Magic left foot which is also a great alternative at set pieces. At one point I saw a blondie dashing back to mark his man, stopping Muric potentially starting a Burnley counter, and because of the pace involved assumed it was Gordon but looked again and it was wor Lewis. He’s not at Tino levels yet but not far off considering Tino has a lot more first team experience. Think we all knew he had qualities going forward especially after his goal v Man U but he has allayed some doubts about his defensive abilities today.

Floated? -
I know he abhors using his right foot, but I don’t think corporal punishment is the answer.
-
I genuinely never want to hear him talk again.

This season giving us one last Columbo “just one more thing” moment, except instead of interjecting with some wild theory or exploring further lines of enquiry he just goes, “fuck you”.

Spursy are back. 2 wins out of 7 with this. -
Made from bottles, for bottles.

He’s a good distraction for the Glazers though, which is his main purpose.

Hang on, just need to check with Liverpool, Spurs and Man U.

And if they can get Iraola too that’d be great.

Soak up their pressure and hit them hard on the counter. They’re awful In recovery and leave massive space behind when losing the ball in their attacking third. They’re a pretty low energy team and have brittle confidence. Hoping Big Joe is involved off the bench, he’d destroy them. Miggy off the bench too. Of course we’ll have to feel them out early doors but once we settle into our game I feel Wilson, Isak, Gordon and Barnes can run riot. If I notice Bruno having time on the ball, I’ll know it’s a win. They’ll have their moments but for the most part we are extremely clinical (91 goals this season proves that) and all things being equal we should come away with at least a two goal cushion. -

It wasn’t just the result that broke them. They vandalised their own bar and laid out the black and white carpet for us. After that they prob thought their whole club was infested with secret mags.
