Leicester, Leeds, Ajax and Celtic have all recently launched and they dont have Authentic shirts so we are definitely a tier abive them. However, as well as not having the trefoil on our 3rd shirts we just have a generic hangtag, while the big five (Man U, Arsenal, Juve, Bayern and Madrid) have bespoke club hangtags. We also dont yet appear on the banner on the international adidas webpage like those five do. So it looks like we are Elite level, rather than God level to me.

Those shirts are okay but I'm not convinced our designer at adidas has a firm grasp on our history. Yeah we all love the 95-96 away, but its already been redone fairly recently (and quite well) by Puma. As for that third shirt - how many people actually have fond memories of that? Ruud Guillit and an 11th place finish. And their use of retro badges just seems completely random to me. The 70s-80s badge on the home which is a tribute to the 01-03 shirt makes no sense. And the round NUFn badge belongs on a silver/grey shirt - exactly like this years adidas Real Madrid 3rd shirt in fact. That would have been absolutely perfect and a tribute to genuinely happy times. I do appreciate that they look like the've used cream on the colour of the away tho, big thumbs up to that.

If you scroll to the bottom of the new newcastleunited.com webpage you can see they are using the pre-ashley East Stand lettering again, so I'd expect to see that on the stand again.

Just had a quick peak in, the SD has gone and theyve cleaned it up but nothing in its place.

Last years release pattern was June 9th for home, June 30th for away and July 21st for third, so hopefully they will launch the away at some point this week.

I dont think thats right, SAFCs current deal with Hummel is not done through Just Sport like the Nike one was. I believe they are getting bespoke shirts this year which I dont think is possible through Just Sport.

This is unexpected - a couple of Scumderland's retro shirts, that are actually officially available at the club shop, are properly branded Umbro products with the Umbro logo: https://www.safcstore.com/en/sunderland-1978-home-shirt/p-8969250704292897+z-81-3572037031?_ref=p-DLP:m-GRID:i-r0c2:po-2 As far as I'm aware Umbro arent associated with their current supplier Hummel, so this is most unusual. Strangely, the actual Hummel remake retro shirts don't have Hummel branding though. Not sure how this is possible, I've only seen it happen in the past with defunct brands such as Bukta (we have a Bukta branded tracksuit). I woukd absolutely love it if our retro Umbro shirts were proper one-for-one remakes with the Umbro logo. Never fancied getting the unbranded ones.

Just seen that Man City's club font was designed by Noel Gallagher and it is just his normal handwriting. Maybe we could get Nail or Sting to do ours next year.

The club should consider re-opening a club shop in the city centre. In fact, there is an ideal empty unit bang in the middle at Monument where Pret a Manger used to be. The temporary shop was rammed at 11.30 yesterday so with a steady drip feed of new products I'm sure it would be feasible to have another city centre outlet once again.

Just had a slightly Castore-esque experience at club shop. Went to get mine and the bairns shirts printed and also last years away shirt, bought in the club shop last month and I have the receipt. Chap says he'll have to check if he can do last years shirt, woman behind counter says they cant do last years as the numbers are a different style this year. I say the PL numbers are exactly the same as last year, to which she says no they were red last year. I say they were black on the away which is the same as this years home. She has no further excuses not to print it so another chap says they did it for someone else and the number peeled off so they wont do it. As I'm fasirly certain this is just an excuse I tell him I don't mind if it peels off, to which he responds with final ruling of 'it's against company policy to print last years shirt'. So then I ask for the adidas shirts to be printed with the club font, the woman says its not available yet but the original chap whos serving me says 'its over there'. She rebukes this with 'I know it is but it can't be processed yet'.

That Belgium kit is beautiful but it looks like its suffering from the Castore x Aston Villa issue to me.

The badge is much better on adidas compared to Castore. I think the authetic badge is the best execution of our badge yet. And adidas have a knitted collar where Castore use the same one on pro and replica. But I'd agree the material feels identical and looks very fragile!

Fingers crossed our God Tier status grants us a long sleeve away shirt.....it's looking disappointing in short sleeve but long sleeve changes everything. Day one purchase in Authentic trim for me.
