  1. Such a “professional” performance, the kind that wins you things. We can’t go hell for leather against every team so it’s great that he’s capable of doing things like this when needed.
  2. We desperately need a second striker. It’s the only position we can’t realistically rotate at the minute.
  3. I definitely agree. Things like this and the domestic cup runs will hopefully end up being good practice for when we’re after the title and European trophies.
  4. When we do the anti-competition lawsuit, a few of these recent performances need to be included as evidence. Both Liverpool and Bournemouth have played worse than ever before when we need them to actually try.
  5. Such a vile camera angle in the playoff game. May they never get promoted.
  6. On that subject, only noticed recently that Arteta had one of the best views of this goal.
  7. He’ll still be heading the ball like that when he’s 90. One of the best ever in the air.
  8. Krafth has played more minutes in the league than Elliott this season. There’ll be a reason why him and Quansah barely play despite having a small squad so I’d avoid them.
  9. Still only 31. Should probably be a lesson about supporting players and not boo/criticise them after a bad game.
  10. Wasn’t that long ago we’d be watching this same match but it’d be a relegation 6 pointer.
  11. Nketiah and Nunez being the two strikers we’re relying on to score easy chances is very us.
  12. Since the last Brighton game 2 months ago… Won 7 Drawn 1 Lost 1 Trophies 1 Realistically he’s doing as well as he can, maybe more so considering he was very ill in hospital for some of that. Doubting him just makes you look exceptionally stupid.
  13. One point changes it from 1/4 to 1/50? Shows how close it is and makes me think of the little things that would have gotten us one or two extra points. Gordon’s horrendous penalty against Everton away being the main one.
  14. Howe got asked specifically about Isak’s form in the press conference and he said we were finding it hard to get bring him into games (as in pass to him, creating chances etc) and mentioned he’d only returned to full training this week after a few minor injuries. I’m guessing another part of the answer is he needs a rest but we haven’t got anyone who is even close to him so Howe can’t say that out loud. This is what the “Delap won’t even play!” lot need to remember. It’s very different times but we already had Ferdinand and Asprilla when we signed Shearer.
  15. That Nunez header just got a lot worse. If that fell to anyone else it’s 2-2 now.
  16. Knows exactly what he’s doing and knows he’ll get away with it. Can’t wait till we’re at that level.
  17. Could do with Jota diving absolutely loads here.
  18. Hopefully 6 points on the board for us there then. 18 points off the promoted 3 would be huge.
  19. Payback for the final here.
  20. First draw in the league since 4th December. Very pleased with how we turned a defeat into a draw because we’re crap at that. There was only one team in it after they scored.
  21. It’s crazy that we’ve won 14 of the last 19 (in the league since Brentford) and it’s still nowhere near being wrapped up. Just shows how good/consistent we’d need to be to actually win the league.
  22. Allegiances aside, would you rather go to Man Utd and start 95% of games or come here and play in 95% of games. It’s easy to look at the negatives and think he won’t join because he’ll not start every game but what about the positives? He’ll be coming into a trophy winning, (probably) champions league club with a really good young team who are managed by one of the best in the world. The manager plays extremely striker friendly football and he can be a big part in our almost guaranteed future success. The ultimate bottom line here is that if we want to go to the top we’ll need to start convincing good players to join even if they won’t start every game, because that’s what the bigger clubs do. We need as good a squad as possible if we’re in Europe and attacking the domestic cups every year, so deliberately buying dedicated “back ups” won’t help.
