  1. People forget Anderson's the same age as Tino, already shown promising signs for his age
  2. Agreed, although Isak seems the wasteful one today. Can't have him missing so many chances
  3. If Miley can play the way he did the last two games every game, and Sean can't recapture that early season form he had, you might be seeing more Miley than you think
  4. Didn't Eddie say Barnes was close to return after int'l break?
  5. My point is Emery hasn't really had his hand forced (at all) this season. Will be interesting to see how they perform when the adversity inevitably hits Edit to add that I do agree with you they're good, but is it sustainable, I think that remains to be seen
  6. Probably stubborn on my part but I just don't believe Villa yet. And fully believe we'll finish ahead of them. They've played very well, but I think they've also been very lucky on the fitness side (Mings aside) of things and aren't deep enough to sustain. Similar to Spurs where if a key player goes down - a Watkins or Diaby or McGinn - can they hang in for an extended period? I don't think so.
  7. With 5 likely CL spots I think this is the right mindset. Sneak into 5th or Europa and Eddie will have done a job
  8. Crazy to suggest Anthony Gordon has a little Son Heung min in his game?

    Joe Willock

You'd have to think PIF will be asking some questions with Willock's re-aggravation.
  10. We also just lost to Bournemouth after Chelsea held city to a draw that could've been a win
  11. All really just boils down to whether Isak can figure his fitness out. Eddie didn't spend the massive fee for alex expecting him to only play half our games. Callum's going into his 15th season next year. He's here to sub on for 20 minutes and score one if we need the instant offense. Probably need another warm body that's a natural striker who can slot in, but obviously there's no money, or space on the team, for anyone of repute.
  12. That's basically his ideal role already... We didn't buy Isak for 70 million so Wilson could be anything more than a super sub, but Isak can't stay on the pitch, so Eddie's been forced to use Wilson as an out-and-out starter. The cover isn't for Wilson. In an ideal world, Alex stays healthy, plays his 70 minutes a game, and makes way for Callum, but he hasn't proven he can do that.
  13. There aren't many strikers (in the world) that have Callum's output... Really all that's needed is a third option so Callum or Isak doesn't get stretched when one inevitably goes down
  14. Might Eddie throw Barnes at striker to give some cover for Isak?
  15. They just looked the better side against the strongest XI in the world and were the better side against Arsenal. Spurs disaster aside I think they've turned a corner. And this is all without Nkunku who might make it back for us.
  16. How does a resurgent Chelsea change the calculus... They look, dare I say, a potential top 4 threat if they keep on their form
  17. Tbf if you throw a billion at transfers you'd expect one of them to end up being really good
  18. I'm sure he's very embarrassed. Gotta remember he's just a kid who's new to the country and doesn't speak the language... not saying to absolve him of his wrongs but important context no less. And khay is right, he's still under investigation by the FA so this is by no means a closed matter. (Here's to hoping he doesn't get another 10 months lopped on in May)
  19. "Right" will always be subjective in the context of football rules. Seems a simple fact that goes over many heads
  20. I think securing European football for next season, in any capacity, would be a success. We'd obliterate the Conference league with our quality if we finished that low in the table... (I believe 7th with the extra CL spot now?)
