I'm really hoping it's RW, RCB, and GK minimum, not including departures (though we deffo will see a departure at GK I'm sure) Then recruitment at full back, CM, and front line depending on what we do with Trips/Target, Willock/Longstaff, Barnes/Wilson etc

One of the (many) flaws of FFP that isn't spoke about as much. Buying these old heads/CL experienced players doesn't happen often to teams like us as relale value is so important
-
That loophole was closed ages ago, contracts are amortisised over 5 years maximum I think the only benefit of what Chelsea do for them, is that they can pay players lower wages over a longer time, so players are more inclined to sign with them in some circumstances
-
Yeah, I'm pretty jealous ngl. Great for the club, fans and for the FFP gods
-
Could the 1 year extension be a way for us to get a fee from a Saudi club rather than him leaving on a free? Just thinking wouldn't he rather a 2 year plus contract in Saudi on more money, rather than 1 more year with us (footballing reasons aside 😂)
-
I'd much rather have Pope than Dubravka as our number 2. Better shot stopper, sweeper keeper, 4 years younger, didn't leave to man u etc etc. Though I do appreciate what Dubs gives us by with the ball at his feet Thats assuming we buy a keeper in the summer, which is essential for me imo
-
Yeah both good points I guess for Huijsen it would come down to, would the FFP benefit have outweighed the squad management risks Clearly we didn't think so, anyway. (Guehi goggles)
-
I still think there is value, especially in this instance If we bought him like Bournemouth and sold him with the release clause, it would still be £40m or so profit compared to the nothing we got for not doing it I know what you mean that we don't want to lose players for way under their value, but with the small fee for him, it'd be worth it imo
-
I assumed we'd target a more mobile RCB, one who can push up / follow his man into midfield and has recovery pace From the very little I've seen of Huijsen, he reminds me of Botman
-
Imo Liverpool, Arsenal, City and Chelsea (on paper) have better first 11 and squads compared to us I think we have better first 11 and squad than Bournemouth, Forest, Brighton and Man U I don't think there's much between us and Villa, I think we have the better 11 but they probably have better squad depth I'd take our 11 / squad over Tottenham's too tbh
-
Yeah, just done a Google to confirm it
-
Think he has a £60m - £65m release clause
-
Wow. I thought there was a hard cap on the CL places. Max being 5 Spurs / Man U are favourites for Europa, so 6 is a real possibility
-
Just seen he's responsible for 52% of our goals this season (goals and assists) Needs wrapped in cotton wool
-
That looks AI for some reason 😂
-
I love Tino. He has the full package of attributes to be genuinely elite But his form / development this season is a concern
-
Howe would never do it yet and understandably so, but I'd love to see him against a one of the top PL teams, since they play with a higher line / more space in behind. Would cause havoc
-
Yeah, though that isn't my opinion about other leagues, I'm pretty sure that was Sir Jim Rats comment about anchoring. I'm just saying how anchoring with the upper revenue defeats this excuse
-
Aye I get that, but I'm still wondering Without thinking of the finer details, anchoring on the higher limit of PL revenue just seems the most fair way to me
-
Why isn't anchoring calculated on the higher end, ie based on the club with the highest revenue rather than the lowest I know that will probably still allows clubs to spend a shed load and that's probably not what they want But it defeats the argument of the PL losing status to abroad by restricting the top EPL clubs, and instead of 'restricting' teams it 'enables' teams
-
Ouseburn Garden with mates, can't afford to go to London for it
-
I think Liverpool could afford them if they wanted. But they're probably gonna find the next Salah and Van Dijk instead for a fraction of the price, such is their brilliant recruitment
-
Think we can become, or already are, an excellent cup team / bogey side again the 'big' teams, including in Europe Howe is very tactically astute, seems very creative and good at nullifying better teams, as well as us having a good blend of athleticism / intelligent players Wonder why this is why we can sometimes be lackluster against mid table sides, as there's no 'masterplan' needed
