I think he's unreal tbh, agree he is a cunt though with the fouls
-
Didn't see Arsenal having interest in Gordon, thought they'd go for a proper elite LW, or at least someone different to Martenelli
-
Yeah, hard to see us signing a £62.5m attacking midfielder and also getting a purple RW, RCB etc , which is why I was suprised at the link from Hope Makes me wonder is this a priority position / style of player we want, or was it more we think he is the right player that we've scouted for a while and prepared to sign even if not the right time (kinda like we did with Barnes/Hall/Tino) Maybe we fed Hope a duff link just to give the journalists something to talk about, like we've did with Edwards Either way, an exciting link and its a type of player I'd love is to have, not sure who is similar and available out there
-
Villa wanting Barnes as a player makes sense, not going to get rashford on permanent But from an FFP sense, he will be 28 in December, not the ideal age to be giving out 5 year contracts, especially considering they're not doing well FFP wise
-
I wasn't keen at first, but would now love him. Seems like he's already off to Man U mind, though the activity from Romano is suspicious, he's mentioned it like 10 times, can only think it's Cunha agent trying to fish out other clubs, otherwise why boast about almost joining a club
-
Allison's wage demands will be insane imo Could see him going to a big club abroad still earning well, or Saudi, rather than stepping down in the Prem
-
Pointless article, though another link to Jacob Ramsey I asked in a different thread maybe, but what is his best position and how would that work for us? I always thought of him as a left winger in a 4-3-3, like Willock Was a couple year ago. Could he form a 3 man midfield with Tonali and Bruno? I also don't like the idea of helping Villa out, I feel he could be a bit surplus to them and they won't miss him (assuming they keep 1 of Rashford / Asensio)

This Donnarumma performance has got me dreaming of having a proper world class keeper I know we will probably be in for Trafford, but honestly I'd be happy to wait another year with Pope/Dubs if we could get our own Allison/Courtois etc Obviously easier said than done, I'm sure out scouting knows better than me, and he could end up class... Just seems having a very good goalkeeper is massive ceiling raiser, especially in Cup competitions
-
Weren't Hall and Tino perceived as way more talented than Elliot ever had been? Sure they were both Chelsea Academy players of the year, which is a pretty big accolade looking at who comes from their academy
-
Can Ramsey actually play well as an 8 in a 4-3-3? Not seen a lot of him, but whenever I have seen him, he always looks best playing more as a winger, like Joelinton/Willock on the left wing
-
If I were Villa, selling Watkins for £60m+ and getting Delap for £30m would be a good way to alleviate some PSR pressure and get younger / still talented striker in
-
I'm thinking a CM is a priority position, and will allow us to push us on significantly. We really need 4 high level CM's for next season, Europe and domestic cups is 60+ games Unsure whether I'd like someone in the similar mould to Joelinton, who still offers the defensive contribution like an Ederson/Baleba, or an attacking midfielder who gives us a new dimension, but still having the physicality we like as a team, such as Cunha But it's also hard to see us go big here with all the other gaps we need to fill (RW, RCB, GK, FB if target / trips go, ST if Wilson goes and Osula still isn't played etc)
-
If the interest in Cunha was genuine as per Hope, then maybe we could have an interest in Eze? I really want a 4th good CM option, either something better, or different to Joelinton, high priority imo
-
Tarkowski reading off a board or something?
-
How does the income compare between winning the Europa league, and say being knocked out at the quarter finals of the champions league?
-
Baleba was absolute quality, beast physically and knows what he's doing when his team have the ball Dream left side 8 / Joelinton upgrade No way it will happen though, probably go for £100m next year
-
£30m Delap, £30m Trafford, £40m Guehi Reckon that's a good way to spend £100m?
-
I'm someone who is sick of the Villa praise of late But they have bought/sold/developed players extremely well imo If they were given a £80m helping hand from Saudi, and bought a couple defenders/Rashford/Asensio or replacements etc, they'd be hard to match next season
-
Extend for a year and sell to Saudi / another team? Thats exactly what I am hoping we do with Dubravka
-
So tottenham are complete opposite to us, FFP rich but cash poor Also, would Villa still be paying Rashford's wages if he is out for the season? Not sure if loans have a break in contract for situations like season long injuries etc
-
I agree it's not a priority position, but next after CB, RW and GK for me If Wilson leaves and Osula goes on loan, we definitely need a good back up striker. I don't think Isak will be able to play 50-60 games a season, and doesn't seem the best once it gets past 70 mins or so And next season it would be great to do similar to what Villa have done this season - strong European campaign, domestic cup run, and chance to make top 5. And for me having Isak and DCL wouldn't be enough for that imo
-
Deffo agree on the loan Would you sell 1 or both of Longstaff and Willock in this instance? As we'd have too many CM's doing this
-
I'd only be happy with DCL in these scenarios (assuming Wilson leaves and Osula may go on loan?) Osula was good/productive enough as our 2nd CF and DCL is purely a tactical 3rd choice when we want a target man / 2 CF on pitch Osula goes on loan and there is no better options on the available (Delap, Emegha etc) We go big on a AM and RW, like Cunha and Mbuemo, and between the front 6, cover for Isak is sorted either with DCL or Mbuemo covering, Cunha as false 9 etc My reasoning being is that I'd rather we get people who make a difference to the starting 11 or squad, DCL seems a liability with poor scoring record, injuries and isn't young anymore. Having said that, PSR and all that so do think in some scenarios he may make sense.
-
Doesn't he have a release clause that is cheaper than that?
-
£30m Delap > free DCL that's for sure So in theory we could we see a front 6 of Isak, Delap, Barnes, Gordon, Murphy, new RW With Wilson leaving and Osula on loan? I'd take that, especially if the RW was an Mbuemo level one Makes the Cunha link recently seem a bit weird, I can't imagine a world where we'd sign a £60m attacking midfielder and want both a CF and RW as well, would cost a bomb
