  1. For me it's clear as day we need a better RW option, and we really can't rely on Wilson as back up, or Isak to be fit for a full season (though hopefully this changes if he has surgery etc) so another ST needed imo. Absolute worst case a RW who can play CF and we keep Wilson The Pope injury, will he be at the same level as he was before? Beforehand, I'd have been happy with Pope as number 1 for another year, but if his levels have dropped, does it become a priority position? Mamardashvili etc and we've hopefully got our own Allison for the next 10 years? Botman injury, I think we'd have already been looking at a new CB, but now I assume this is higher up the list.. Left back situation. Major current weakness, we have Burn, Hall, Targett, Dummett (going). We we've already committed £30M+ to Hall in Summer, so can't see us going big here.... In an ideal world, sell Targett and get Lloyd Kelly on a free. Though not sure how we will ever bed Hall into the team if we keep playing with a '3rd' centre back at left back? Just my thoughts, and that's not even thinking about midfield. There's a few profiles we don't have, not including Bruno. 1 a athletic DM (Onana). 2 Someone who can slow the game down and control (Silva as eg). 3 someone with final third qualities (Maddison eg) Not at all saying we need to get these types of players, Liverpool don't for example, and Howe may want our midfield to be all lungs/energy and get our goals from the wings, the counter press etc, which is likely considering the how we play and the fact we haven't addressed these types of players before
  2. For those saying we now need 2 CBs, don't you think the club will consider if we can get away with 1 CB? It would be Schar, Lascelles, new CB and Krafth who could cover until Botman was back. Leaving Tino and Trippier cover for right back Then at LB, Burn could also cover CB, assuming Targett and Hall are here for LB cover I was thinking it just pushes the need for a CB up the priority list
  3. Tosin at Fulham is on a free this summer too? Can't say I know much of him but him and Kelly wouldn't be a bad idea I guess if we are hamstrung with FFP
  4. CB's then... Presume the injury to Botman will have pushed the young/talented CB singing up the list of priority?
  5. Aye was literally about to post about Arteta, hate the bastard but once Klopp goes in his hiatus, think Arteta will be comfortabley the second best behind Pep, his Arsenal team are quality
  6. Feel like unless you're Liverpool, Arsenal, Madrid or Bayern, then you're dependent on how poor City perform compared to their best to get a result I realy don't think they're as good as they were last season, they've had plenty of shaky moments and I think they're inconsistent, hoping we perform like we did against Villa away and I'd give us a shot
  7. Not a NUFC rumour, but keep seeing the videos of Toney twerking for a move on a sky sports interview Other than Arsenal (who I could see not wanting him due to Havertz having a lot of his qualities), who else would be after him? If he only has a year left, wonder if we would be tempted if a low fee, even though he doesn't fit our usual buying criteria (age, no dick heads etc)

    England

I used to think he was shite, but have been fairly impressed by him this season, don't think he's great or a world beater, but has been one of Chelsea better players
  9. As someone said before, we just can't build momentum, even when we should he able to put in a good performance I thought Villa would be the turning point, good performance and comfortable win against a team who are excellent this season... Then Wolves last week, great game plan and execution, players coming back and etc.. Only for another shite game

    Alexander Isak

Might be worth sticking a release clause in his contract too

    Joelinton

Yeah I know Joelinton and Willock were great in LCM and LW, but do we really think we'd spend £80M on 2 left wingers and do this? Yes, Gordon can play RW you may say, but Eddie has not played him there (I think) and he has been our player of the season on the left this season
  12. I'm sure Onana has been linked with Arsenal, and I think Arteta has been unreal at building this Arsenal squad.. I take that as a good sign
  13. Neto is insane, only caveat is his injuries, I don't follow him close but feel like the last couple have been muscle injuries? So could be down to him being injury prone, rather than occurring from a tackle etc
  14. Yeah depth at CB is increasing as the top teams start to play 3 CBs more often with one as a FB tucking in, in possession I made a comment in the Hall thread wondering what our long term plans will be for him going forward with this in mind
  15. People who want back up to Schar, any particular names in mind? Leny Yoro looks a talent, but may be on the Radar of PSG, Madrid etc so we may have no chance

    Lewis Hall

Aye he was absolutely class. Really hope he comes good, definitely looks a talent, and also a player with technical ability Wonder what our aim long term will be, people mention he played CM for the Chelsea academy l, but we are stacked at LCM, and it's clear we like the LB to tuck in to make 3 CBs in possession
  17. I know FFP should have no bearings on the clubs DOF situation, but since it's clear he doesn't wsnt to be here, anyone else taking some joy that this is a significant FFP boost? If we got £20M or another good figure before we even touched on player sales, this would do us wonders for getting players in this summer
  18. Wonder how Pope will be after surgery, I've had 2 dislocations and operations and I was shitting myself to do anything intensive with them for a while after
  19. I'm also questioning our LB situation Providing we buy hall, I can't see us shelling out any money on a LB, since he is already 35m or something of our budget However, if he isn't ready for first team football, I'd much rather we snapped up someone like Kelly with Burn being old / a clear weak point of our first 11...than remain with the exact same players at LB next season
  20. Never paid any attention to Lloyd Kelly, but based on what I've heard people say, getting him on a free would be a smart move if we are looking to continue buying 1 Left Back every season ?
  21. Seriously rate Toney, think he has similar qualities to Kane, and like Kane is more than just a 9, though I just can't see us going for him because age/attitude/price etc
  22. janpawel

    England

For me Kane, Bellingham, Foden and Saka are absolutely elite and need to play, but not sure on the best formation to fit them, like previously said, Foden and Bellingham have been playing as AMs Honestly think Gorden could do a job at LW, Foden is obviously better but Gorden provides an outlet and eats space up on the counter or in transition, whereas the 4 previously mentioned have different strengths
  23. Pretty sure villa normally batter Brighton. Seems to be a triangle between the 3 teams as we always struggle against Brighton
