  1. I completely get that. But it's still correct that the summer 2024 transfer activity shows a net spend of around zero, albeit spread across two PSR periods. The key point is we seem to have at least £65m to spend. But for whatever reason(s) have chosen not to spend it. That not how successful progressive clubs operate. Hopefully it's an exception and not a sign of things to come.
  2. No need to be like that mate....all I did was ask you to show me your workings 😀 BTW, I'm a FCA been qualified about 25 years so I do understand accounting periods, balance sheet dates, PSR, etc 😉
  3. So you are disputing that as things stand today, this summer's transfer dealing is not showing position of around zero net spend? So what's your figure then. It's been about £65m in and out.
  4. Winter 2024 window, net (and gross) spend of zero. Summer 2024 window, net spend of around zero. No news on the training ground or the stadium. Been a while since any new meaningful sponsorship deals announced. As someone once said, it's not like it is in the brochure. (Hopefully I've posted that 24 hours too early!).

Well that's the transfer kitty fucked. Probably another £10m add on now been triggered to Southampton!

    Marc Guehi

He'll sign for Liverpool this time next week for £55m + £5m add ons.
  7. In which window do we begin to sign 18 year olds from South America for £10m each.
  8. That was ep1 of 2. Episode 2 is available now on I Player.

Some guy. Another clean sheet. Really missed him.
  10. Observations from the match but only seen it in real time. Bruno is not captain material. Burn took on that role when it really mattered like shouting at the ref when he made fucking stupid decisions. Red card looked very harsh. No contact and Diaz dived. Gordon is playing within himself. The East Stand was really missed off with him today for what it's worth. Pulled out of loads of 50/50. Hopefully he's fully focused against once the window closes. Ref was shit from the first minute
  11. That will be the team Howe picks except Burn in for Kelly. Going for a very comfortable unspectacular 2-0 win.
  12. I notice you sensibly didn't include home gate receipts from cup games. Seven in a row away from home and counting!! That alone must be worth £3-4m per season in lost revenue.
  13. Need to shift Miggy first.......

Is this fucker still there? It's my turnstile and already takes ages to get in without this shit.
  15. I said exactly that last season. He finishing and positioning is still spot on though.
  16. They are taking the piss with the second point. That's just a normal operational risk that every club is exposed to. It's like us saying we need an allowance because MA didn't grow our commercial income for 14 years in line with other clubs. Or that last season we had the worst injury crisis in PL history, which means we lost revenue from being knocked out the CL and finishing 7th instead of 4th.
  17. Yes, heard the same. That the police have been briefing some local organisations that this may happen. What a fucking mess. Why can't they just make the EDL meeting illegal. Use some of that emergency covid lockdown legislation, that must be knocking around somewhere still 🙂
  18. And a defensive one. That midfield three looks poor today. No pace very lethargic and being cut open on the counter. It's only a friendly and we'll improve before the season starts.
  19. Once a team is full of elite players the manager is less important. Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea until recently regularly changed managers and continued to be very successful. For a few years Real Madrid seemed to win the CL every year under a different manager! At NUFC Howe has turned average players into good players and good ones into very good. We still need Howe as we do not have a squad of quality players. But as the squad improves the manager is less important. Hence putting in place the executive level management structure we are seeing now. We still need Howe to do his magic for a while yet though.
  20. Nee Steve Bruce 😃😃
  21. The club will have known from September 2023 onwards there was a PSR deficit. The actual amount will have been clearer from December 2023 once we were out of Europe. And again in February 2024 after the winter transfer window closed. Raising the required funds on the day or the deadline is very risky. Maybe beyond the risk appetite of PIF, who knows. It's old news now and I hope this is not linked to Amanda leaving. I'm sure it's not.
  22. The Athletic article by Chirs Waugh, I think. 10 points deduction if we didn't raise the funds, 48 hours to do it, serious concerns we might not do it. That type of thing. It was covered in the other thread.
