  1. The photoframe in the broadcast isn't necessarily the frame actually used in the decision mind (eg Liverpool Vs fulham you can see the players' body positions are a little different).
  2. Thought for a while he's looking close to being back to his best haircut.
  3. Surely a good, competitive league would be one where average sides are not too far off?
  4. We needed that. Such a crazy run of games and feels like things haven't quite gone for us at times but nice to finally win again.
  5. Spurs have a tonne of injuries but they still have some names to bring on
  6. They've realised that pressing basically castrates us
  7. Wish Thomas Frank would chew with his mouth closed
  8. Right boys, do some good footballing 2nd half please.
  9. Think the offside rule's fine personally. Moving the line does nothing to change the fact there will always be incredibly tight calls because that's the nature of offside. Anyway, looks like we've played well and Spurs have been poor. Let's hope we put this to bed.
  10. Probably 2 ways of going for this: 1. Balls to the wall heavy pressing right from the off, try and make something happen early at the risk of getting caught/knackered by the end of the game. Klopp's pressing has historically been successful vs Pep. See if we can force an error. If we concede a couple then we can rotate out early. 2. Play very conservatively, Pardew vs Benfica stylee (which I thought was actually quite smart, as much as I wasn't a fan of Pardew) - we can't win the game in the first half but we can easily lose it. Keep things tight. Hope to get the first goal and then the longer the game goes on the more it's theirs to lose and the pressure on them builds.
  11. Damn right, we're the holders, we shouldn't give up without a massive fight. What message does it send the players if we're like: 'never mind the semi final lads, we've got Brentford on saturday'. Yes there's not much chance of us doing anything, but there is a small chance. And you can't allow the culture of the team to accept defeat.
  12. I get that we've just lost, but we've lost away to the league champions who have almost twice our budget, after playing the european champions away midweek. We probably deserved to be at least level at the break. Second half wasn't great for sure (though might have been different if we hadn't been behind), but again, we're playing one of the best teams in the world. 4-1 flattered them, though i'll say they deserved to win overall, but again ... away. League Champions. Twice our budget. There are definitely some issues with our team: lacking in guile in the final third and struggle to pass out from the back under any pressure. But give Eddie a break, this isn't Fifa or Football Manager, You can't save scum. Sometime shit happens and we're still in every fucking competiton in the end of January.
  13. Would be the first interesting home shirt since 1992. Not that some of the ones in between weren't very nice, 93-98 was an awesome run and the 1995 one is an all-timer. But it's been, for the most part, a pretty unimaginative few decades. About time we did something a bit different for once. Think a funky design would look better with the lettery NUFC badge mind, rather than our rather fussy traditional one.
  14. I want massive, fat, oversized shoulder stripes.
  15. I like it. The whole 'oh look we've got three stripes this year. Oh look we've got 5 stripes this year. Oh look we've got 7 stripes this year thing was wearing a bit thin after 140 odd years. Something a bit different is fine sometimes. Then when you go back to a classic stripped-down kit it has more impact.

True, they don't make 'em like Julio Iglesias any more.

The big dog needs a bump for that penalty save.
  18. This season seems so unlucky man. Even when we manfully get a draw away against the european champions it still doesn't help us! Great effort from the lads today though.

    Joe Willock

Think he's actually been pretty good when he's got a chance this year. Glad he's got a goal.
  20. Sorry, by 'guest' did you mean 'doesn't'? Was that a predictive text thing? I haven't been able to find any way to see penalty shootout penalty stats on that site unfortunately. There's the Bournmouth one, and I think I remember him missing in a shootout for Brazil too, which don't show up there, but in the league he's clearly absolute mustard.
  21. Never missed a league penalty in his whole career: https://www.transfermarkt.com/bruno-guimaraes/elfmetertore/spieler/520624 Not even Le Tissier can say that: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/matt-le-tissier/elfmetertore/spieler/43705
