  1. I'm just sick of it always being black and white stripes on the first kit every single bloody year. I'd like to see us be a bit more imaginative, maybe switch it up to white and black stripes for example. Something a bit different but also exactly the same.
  2. Class kit. Also, who's that bloke from the 1930's in the front row?
  3. I missed the start and came in just after the second goal. We've been in 2nd gear the whole time since really. I'd like to see us play with a bit more intensity on the ball, it's all a bit slow and plodding, though it feels like we're kind of in energy preservation mode to be fair. I'd like to see Isak get a rest, and Big Jow. Maybe Tripper too. And I'd like to see Osula on just for some fun times.
  4. Club needs to hire more seemstresses to design all this gear everyone wants.
  5. Try these cunts*, they've got seamstresses: https://www.easystitch.co.uk/ *Disclaimer: I don't know them, they may not be cunts.
  6. Not sure if it was a specific run but there was a crazy stat about their scoring record as a three at one point: https://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2024/04/16/unbelievable-newcastle-united-stats-nine-stunners-i-simply-had-to-share/
  7. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-gordon/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/503733/saison/2022/verein/762/liga/0/wettbewerb/GB1/pos/0/trainer_id/0/plus/1 From his starts in the league (in order) he was started as a: RW, LW, LW, AM, LW, AM He was signed a a versatile player and never shone anywhere for us that first 6 months so was being moved around where needed or to see what worked IIRC. Last game of the year vs Chelsea, when he scored, he was played centrally as a 8. Not sure where he usually played in the subs appearences but I rememeber the instance where he had his strop after being subbed off as a substitute (against Brentfordd I think) he was on the right. Then he played CF for England U21s that summer and came back and immediately started smashig the LW position.

    Fabian Schär

Good news. Assuming Wilson leaves this summer, I don't think we could have easily absorbed the hit to our Handsomeness Quotient if Schär left in the same window.

    Harvey Barnes

Reminds me a bit of a line from Danny Baker's 'Own Goals and Gaffes' where he said 'Peter Shilton used to blame his defence when penalties went in!'
  10. Checko

    Harvey Barnes

Think Howe likes to play players against their old clubs and with BArnes playing well & Gordon coming back from injury I'd definitely start Barnes personally.
  11. Think people are going way overboard here. He was fine for the most part. Isak fucked up way more stuff than him tonight. I'd definitely like to see Osula get some more minutes, he's pure chaotic good, but Wilson's also the senior pro.
  12. Everything about it how he struck it looks like he did it deliberately, but Sandro's such a clever player and only a moron would try and shoot from there I suppose.

    Harvey Barnes

    Key assist tonight.
  14. BTW, can anyone overdub that goal with the Alan Partridge: "Shit, did you see that? He must have a foot like a traction engine?" commentary
  15. What the actual fuck was that goal? I think he might have meant it too, I can't see why he would have struck it the way he did otherwise. Overall game was class as well - sorted us out so often defensively.
  16. If they get Declan Rice to host it, it might actually be quite good.

    St James' Park

Just make it 69,069 capacity. No-one will complain.

    Kevin Keegan

Agreed, we should start an annual preseason Kevin Keegan Cup [in association with Sela] - us vs Hamburg, with a £200million prize pool

    Alexander Isak

But I do so love a No. 9!
  20. Whately's NUFC, though doesn't sound like football's his first love: "I enjoy sport and naturally I support Newcastle United, but rugby is my game and I might manage to sit still long enough to watch a match if I'm not playing golf." - https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/my-perfect-weekend/4807130/My-Perfect-Weekend-Kevin-Whately.html I do remember an outtake from Auf Wiedersehen Pet where he's in bedroom with the football on the radio and messes up the take because Newcastle scores a goal. Edit found it:
  21. Open top bus parades have an end of year feel to me. We've still got 10 games to go and a champions league place to fight for. After such a massive high it can be easy for following games to just feel underwhelming. Look at us after that PSG game for example. Nothing was going to live up to that high and games after just felt flat in comparison. Basically, I'm more concerned about over-celebrating right now, though obviously I sound like an absolute geography teacher for saying so. Edit: have a parade end of season if we really need one.
  22. Honestly, Murphy just drilling some balls in wouldn't be the worst thing in a game like this. He's actually a very nice striker of the ball.
  23. Was thinking that. Against a low block it's so congested in the middle I'm a big believer you often just want someone to get to the byline drill it into the box and cause some chaos. Foden just wants to go inside all the time. If you're going to do that you need a really good attacking fullback who can do the byline stuff.
  24. Amazing. So great for him. Wonder if it's worth putting a punt on him to score the winner in the WC final.
