  1. God that is so gloriously 90s.
  2. Get him on penalties and let's try and win him the golden boot!
  3. Even though that tweet is very supportive of Howe, it does get the wage comparison a little wrong as far as I can tell (mainly underplaying Man U as he's an anti-Glazer. "His player wage bill is around £160-180m, it’s not miles of United and Tottenham at £170-180m. But it’s basically half of Liverpool, City and Chelsea’s wage bill of £300m." The UEFA (https://ecfil.uefa.com/2024) figures (albeit for a year or two ago) give wages (in euros) as: NUFC: 227 Spuds: 260 (can see why Spurs fans are frustrated given their income) Manure: 429 Respect FC: 449 Pep has it tough FC: 554 NOTE: Wages seems to be :"All categories of wages, player wages, coaching and technical staff and administrative and commercial wages are now considerably higher than they were before the pandemic." So not just players, and bigger operations probably have more backroom wage bill. Plus obviously Man U have been trying to jettison some high earners since, but I suspect our wage bill is still quite a bit lower than theirs.
  4. I'd probably agree with that. Still worth sowing a seed of doubt into Villa's prematch plans though!
  5. I'll have to check the highlights when they're up but might have to agree to disagree here!

    Harvey Barnes

Wonder if he could play more of a number 10 / second striker kind of role in a more attacking lineup, where he's given a bit more freedom to move around and find those runs and pockets of space. Could help make the most of his best qualities: His pace, off the ball movement (particularly runs from deep),and finishing off either foot. Especially with Big Nick up front, Barnes could provide that constant threat in behind when Nick drops deep.
  7. Glad he got a good performance and result tonight cause the next month's fixtures are brutal. Stay off social media kids.
  8. Yeah Burn's a very good defender, don't mean to imply he isn't. He's just definitely up to nefarious shenanigans to ensure he keeps playing.
  9. Every time Burn loses his place one of our starters suddenly gets an injury. One of Botman or Thiaw will get injured in the next few weeks. Big Dan Burn doesn't do bench sitting.
  10. thought it was a solid cameo. Pressed with purpose, made some good runs, one nice cross to make a chance.
  11. Very calm finish for his goal I thought.
  12. Yeah I presume this is scewed by ridiculous corporate packages
  13. No probs, seems to be all sorts of stuff in lovely pastel colours if you download the full report. Eg we had 25th highest gate yield but 39th highest yield per fan yield per fan (in euros) Us - 37 Man U - 71 Spuds - 96 Arsenal - 106 PSG - 137 Some of you lot need to eat more burgers is the clear take home.
  14. Figures come from here: https://ecfil.uefa.com/2024 Think they're for the 23/24 season
  15. At least we can all enjoy how angry John Terry will be hearing all this.
  16. Yeah I agree, I'd say Eddie is politic in what he says to the media, rather than full Brent.
  17. Seems a very nice lad, hardworking, great athlete, two-footed. Forest fans say he was by far their best set piece taker which suggests he has good technique striking a ball. Trouble is, now the crowd have decided he's rubbish, every little mistake gets criticised triple, which compounds the issue with a guy short of form and confidence. Take the Spurs cup game, he was absolutely fine that game but because he gave the ball away once with a sloppy pass (which pretty much every player does at some point in a game) some poeple were slating his whole performance. Remember Murphy vs Leicester last year - he'd been getting so must shit from the crowd he had a kind of angry reaction to scoring. Then he went on a tear. Just gotta hope Elanga has his Leicester moment soon before he's fully Longstaffed.
  18. For me it's not the fact he does this, but the fact he's probably made a point of telling people he does it. If he turns out to be half as good as he thinks he is then Chelsea have got a hell of a manager on their hands! On a side note he's probably a perfectly nice, hard-working person, he just seems a lot more Fulham than Chelsea. I also find Eddie's motivational slogans on the wall thing a little cringey as well so I'm a bit biased agains the whole corporatespeak thing.
  19. And thinking about it, coaching can be split into co-aching - as a coach you have to put as much effort in as your players to improve them. Wow.

    Lewis Hall

I feel like if you gave Hall Tino's athleticism you might not be far off a young Gareth Bale. No idea how good at golf he is mind.
  21. With the run of games we've got coming up, I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that if we don't win here we should just burn the club to the ground and start again.

    Yoane Wissa

Not sure, I remember him scoring a screamer from outside the box vs us. Plenty of nice finishes in Dennis Wise highlights. xG is basically - when you took a shot, how likely was it that shot would be a goal? If you consistently exceeds your xG it suggests your shooting is better than average. In his case he's been at, or exceeded his xG for the last 4 years (though not a full time player or specialist striker for some of that period tbf).
  23. Hopefully Eddie can work on getting him into better positions.

    Joelinton

Big Joe hasn't been sent off since the 17/18 season and is at his best fired-up. Not something to worry about particularly IMO.
