Unless we’ve been weirdly lining up deals ready to go (which goes against everything we’ve seen this summer), it’s fanciful thinking that if Isak went we would quickly be knocking off many buys in a very space of time. This deal likely happens, then it’s a CM and striker. That’s it. Even if Isak is sold now, I don’t think we replace him this summer and accept someone like Osula is back up (or Gordon, with Korean guy kept around for back up to Barnes) and we wait till January. Thiaw and Wissa for £60m combined (rising to £70m), on top of Elanga fee and Ramsdale would be what £125m? If we had £150m to play with before sales, Longstaff sale might mean we stretch to a similar ball park CM (£40m either before or with add ons). Feels a lot of money for a shrug of the shoulders summer, so hopefully the CM is someone who wets the appetite.

100%. Wharton will be going for circa £100m next summer too, so they can afford to ride the loss. Might be a reason to why they’re not spending much this summer as the Guehi fee isn’t there, which will piss off Glasner and likely make up his mind he wants off as soon as the first good job becomes available but they have an FA Cup and Europe, something they’ve never had before in their history.

Man Utd will be annoyingly fine after their signings if Amorim isn’t stubborn and leaves Fernandes + 1 on their own to deal with opposition CMs. As they will be overrun and Diallo / Dorgu being asked to defend isn’t a recipe for success. Got a team though that can play 4-2-3-1 strongly on paper.

Man City really ought to sign Rodrygo. He’s the perfect pressing winger for Pep, and will balance out Haaland not pressing.
-
Meant top 5 as in revenues. Got such a lead on others, that whilst the other big boys are catching up / caught up, they’re still at a base where it will be top 5 in future seasons despite being poor in the league regularly.
-
And Man City going to turn a £15m profit on this guy after a proper shite season
-
Won’t be no ramifications. At worse, Man Utd know they can sell to a state and the debt is cleared, at best it’s more of the same, max out the credit and sell on youth over next 2 seasons to balance things. Garnacho will be £40m book. They’ll be banking on Rashford being £30m to Barcelona or £20m+ to someone else. Mainoo is there for £45m+ next summer and there is always Heaven / Obi for £20m+ sales if they’re seeing minimal minutes this season and they see them as booked values. Leaves them with a weird looking squad, but then that’s always been them for past 10+ years and the cup trophies will come in as it’s enough quality to hook it over one off games and revenue staying high. They’re not the top boys by some distance as the 00s / 10s, but will always be comfortably in top 5.

The only thing that scares me about Ederson and a potential fee, is how many players have successfully replicated their form away from Gasperinni side after a big money move?
-
Savinho is shite When you are churning out one goal as a winger at Man City, you’ve not got much about you. Antony is a better RW.
-
That’s Tonali and Bruno if we have someone then to sit deep and let them do damage in attack. ATM, one of them rotates (Tonali best) and Joelinton is up there missing headers from 4 yards.
-
If Palace are not getting a fee for Guehi, Eze move not happening, how about a play for Wharton at £70m?
-
Slot lost his head when the pressure was on in title race which I think many people forget. But Arsenal then dropped off so it was never pushed any more.
-
Get in. Get to fuck you scouse cunts. Talk about Guehi and Isak now?!?? WANKERS
-
They need another striker after selling Nunez, so I suppose if they agree Isak at £150m isn’t value, who do they go for next or roll dice and go with just Etitike if they want Isak next summer? Sounds like they won’t get a LW, because they rate Nguhoma (and likely had to provide guarantees when getting him as a kid that his pathway wouldn’t be blocked), so needs to be a striker.
-
“Get flag up early” as replays show that would’ve been very close.
-
Oh fuck off commentators. PURE CRINGE FEST.
-
Etitike, what could've been here (three times)

He does still have the end say and can tell agent to F off, but if he’s agent is telling him to not take the new deal and release clause for 2026, that is 100% being badly advised by his agent. As if Liverpool don’t come back in, he’s fucked it. Accepting early on and his agent going “Take this new deal, it’s a great release clause which we can get activated by Liverpool next summer because they would’ve paid that this summer” is the advise he should’ve been giving.

Talking about Guehi and how he would improve Liverpool 15 mins before kick off

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (playing for Leeds United)

Like Wilson should not be getting a club over DCL. So he’s clearly priced himself out of a move and the options at prem clubs are vastly reducing. Think Brentford should sign him as a low cost striker. Their directness would probably suit both parties too. -

Lower his wage demands, he could get loads of clubs. Poor agent being sacked for holding out for the big wages and signing on fee. -
This guy for circa £70m+ is the sort of transfer we’d laugh at Man Utd and some others when they do it. Theres no value at that price for a proper raw player. Half that is fine, but at £70m you want more seasons and in different environments potentially to justify it. We’re not that desperate to plunge for it.

He’s always been shite defensively. Just really good in attack, but under McKenna in championship they played a lopsided formation where he’s effectively LW all game so his output boosted his value. Never will make it as an actual LB in prem.
