Also, not sure what people are thinking in Trafford sitting on bench not playing for 1-2 seasons serves? Guy needs to be playing games to learn mistakes and improve. Serves him no good to not be playing for 2 seasons. Clearly didn’t look Prem ready, so no games for 2 seasons, suddenly going to be prem ready?
-
Really not keen on Trafford. Guy does not scream any more talent than Woodman years back. Need a goalkeeper that can come in and be a level up straight away, not one that’s inferior and may not improve because he plays no games next season.

Not sold on Minteh till I see him in a more competitive league. Eredivise is a proper pathetic league, where if you are in a strong attacking side, your attacking output will look far more amazing. If we signed someone for £40m from Eredivise, probably would be a meltdown in here.

Can’t wait for Southgate to leave England and rock up at Man Utd.
-
Mixed bag. Feels a bit disjointed the play, individual quality at final moment lacking too. Gordon done well from a Newcastle perspective. Like a 7/10.
-
Would say, at that point, if Saudis are still spending, let’s extend his contract, loan him to Real Madrid for 2 seasons, then sell him to Al-Ahli afterwards in 2028 for £90m

Basically happy to stay, unless club turn around and say we have to accept this offer because it’s X amount and we need a sale. Think personally, only clubs he leaves us for is Real Madrid or PSG. Which won’t be till 2025 at earliest, but if we take a good stride forward and get back into UCL, it won’t just entice him to stay but also means we can be stronger on not selling. I’m confident of getting 2 more seasons from him, and if he wants to move at age 28, then so be it, we would’ve got 4 1/2 seasons out of him which is a good return. All parties can move on happy, just need to maximise the next 2 seasons of him as he’s a proper jewel.
-
He’s work rate is a Southgate dream for balance, and he’s consistently delivered that energy/output against the elite sides this season so got that in the bank. Think all three on LW go, just because squad is 26. Then it’s in theory Saka/Foden/Palmer for same numbers. Shaw will be the gamble. If he goes, Southgate has to take Trippier/Gomez in case there’s a breakdown with him, which means for me one of the CMs not going (like Wharton). Not taking Shaw, gives more room in squad to take Wharton.

I’d assume any projected missed income would be not having Europe post Christmas. Like Europa and QFs, that would’ve been like £5m if that? Easily covered by one of the fringe players moving on like Almiron / Wilson /Targett etc. in that time.
-
There’s pace, then there’s silly pace which Adeyemi has. Prefer a creative RW that can play in pockets, but if Adeyemi can be picked up for £20m, that’s a deal that ought to be jumped on.

Trafford I will say I agree with you, has what looks the ability to grow. Just issue I have which I mentioned while ago, we’re moving forward as a club where we can’t afford 3 seasons of letting the goalkeeper learn and grow, need one that’s at a strong level already just below a step to becoming elite. Come 27/28 season, he may be at a top level, but buy him then. Let him learn the mistakes etc at a club around mid table level. I always feel it’s telling that over the years, no major club in England has signed Pickford when they’ve all needed a goalkeeper at different times. And Trafford may or may not reach his levels.
-
Really not happy with Trafford links. Hopefully guff, as he looks a bang average goalkeeper.
-
Bumped into Bruno in Orlando. Handsome fucker up close.
-
It’s more he was clearly fucked, not for the first time this season, and he was left on. All about long term picture.
-
Not featuring in first game due to ankle injury. Hope he can feature in 2nd game as I would be gutted for him if he somehow didn’t go Euros because we played him through the pain again. Feels though with no Rashford, Southgate is in on him and Grealish as LWs. And Eze is the back up.
-
Even more so, if club viewed him as someone who’s part of a collective group of CBs, rather than an absolute must buy CB and first name on team sheet.
-
I take some comfort that Liverpool are after him. Mane and Jota end of day were similar signings for them, Mane became a huge player for them, and Jota for me is their 2nd most key attacker, arguably first as he joins it up with Salah through middle which none of their others don’t, and him being injured cost them this season.
-
Hope we get Chalobah from Chelsea. Better player IMO.
-
More clubs should be after him. Just a player that’s comfortably made the step forward past season, and got the right attitude to continue that upward trajectory.
-
People were lambasting last season we didn’t cash in on Almiron/Wilson, just surprised the attitude is different this season to people who are on fringes of main XI. If we trust Miley/Anderson to make a step forward next season, Willock is in the middle part where he’s blocking them or not starting over main guys. Obvs if Longstaff is the one that goes Willock stays, but I feel one of the CMs goes this summer to bring in funds, don’t need 7.
-
Like, Man Utd could have Martinez fit all next season, buy another £200m of players, and if they set up the same, there’s nothing I fear about them. One off games in cups, will still have ability to win when manager goes pragmatic, but fundamental set up and style doesn’t worry me across the season for us to come out better league position.
-
You were still shit and shipping in chances galore with Martinez. Awonyi and Cunha were running right through Man Utd with ease from word go. Saying Martinez injured just papers over the issues that were there from day one even with him this season.
-
If he’s one of the very few players that can bring in a fee, where they are not currently a major player. I like Willock, but he’s had a whole season out which hasn’t been his fault, and the games he played he was terrible, but again was because he wasn’t over the injury. Everyone fit, I’m sure majority of people have Joe/Bruno/Tonali as the starting CMs, so in a season where we could play just 40 games, he may not feature as much, where his value in the 22/23 season is further from peoples minds. So if the opportunity was to get a top CM that’s more useful in positions using the funds, then I would back such a transfer.
-
I’d love to keep Willock, but we need to be realistic and captalise on players that have value. This summer is probably last main window where he’s got a value and sellable, to bring in funds to generate the improvement in the XI. When we’ve also got Joelinton/Barnes/Gordon who can play LW, he’s literally only LCM. Which unless you are a top talent, at the top end, you need to be able to play well in more than one position (talking CM and attack).
-
Based on a couple of Europa games I saw, I’d want us to get Ederson anyway. Be ruthless getting Willock moved on, and bring in him. Feels him/Bruno/Jo/Tonali would be a formidable 4 for rotational quality and what we need as a squad.
