  1. Chelsea wanted a new striker last summer, after signing Jackson in previous one and him doing well first season They also keep signing wingers and CMs Delap can score 8 in 24 (good return to start off with) and he’ll be deemed disposable as the next thing is available. He’ll be nothing more than a PSR flip for them.
  2. Don’t think he has much stature anyway. Far too hyped for stuff he did like 8+ years ago. We’ll still be an attractive role for many, because whilst maybe not having the full power, the finances over the coming years thanks to Howe delivering, will mean a DoF can spend £100m+ most seasons. Which can provide room for the established signings and their own little pick ups.
  3. Not to the required levels we would’ve needed, but would’ve been a better option than Wilson due to the pace / physical threat, and the bit of unknown that makes CBs think twice. As season has gone on, it’s been made clear to me that Howe sees him as a winger anyway, so we will sign a ST. Then it’s Osula / New RW, with Murphy eventually a back up RB / RWB as the squad evolves.
  4. DoF just needs to be someone who’s extremely competent in negotiations and able to link up key guys (Manager, Head Scout, CEO/Chaiman) to come to an agreement. Doesn’t need to be someone who’s a talent spotter as Nickson is that guy, and you bolster up his team. CEO/Chairman for the strategic view point and ensure club doesn’t fuck itself financially (basically a common sense, boring view in the room) and the manager who’s going to be working with the players and ultimately responsible for if that signing works or not (and the results). Howe has clearly shown now he can improve players, deliver consistently, so should have more of a say in decisions. Mitchell if sounds like wanted to have more of the say in that room, which he didn’t warrant at all. Then with Eales leaving, he was going to be on his own as Nickson / Howe are likely very well aligned right now. It’s all jokes aside, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Ashworth is brought back. All things considered, there was good relationships with Howe (Ashworth even wanted Howe at Man Utd) and for all Ashworth ‘hype’, his main skill is bringing people together and negotiating deals.
  5. Annoying Delap wants Chelsea. Everyman and his dog knows he’ll be available for loan in January 2026, after he doesn’t play much and Chelsea still want a striker.
  6. Time to play the card, it’s now. Can’t argue against giving him the power if PIF are ready to increase the revenues and go all in. Better off doing it with Howe who genuinely could be a long term manager for next 6+ years and get us the title.
  7. Supposedly off to some random 2nd division Saudi side. But wouldn’t rule out us making a bigger play. Ashworth back as an alternative?
  8. Freedman must be coming in? Can’t be a coincidence that he was first choice, didn’t get him so got Mitchell. Now Freedman is available, Mitchell carted off and we get him?
  9. First summer break since 2022. Give his body a rest which probably hasn’t recovered fully from last international break, new haircut, and he’ll be a new player come pre season.
  10. Said it few times this season when we’ve played bad the squad needs ripping up, and this is case in point again. None of those bench players should be on bench next season (bar trippier) in truth.
  11. Too early for our fans to be singing.
  12. Now we get equaliser and we can really relax.
  13. Still don’t trust Man Utd. Could easily lose 2-1 still.
  14. Never cheered a Man Utd goal so loudly
  15. Wilson over Osula hasn’t directly cost us this game, but it symbolises the poor decisions made in game this season.
  16. Common theme this season. Turning in some right stinkers at home. It’s alright if you lose and it’s been a bad luck game, but too many times it’s just been us being out right off it.
  17. Can’t wait to pump these 4+ next season. Proper twatting, slap them back down to earth. Hope we play them like November too, so they’re 5 points from 13 by then.
  18. Sure Sunderland fans will be measured and realistic with their aims next season…
  19. Garnacho would be the one I'd actually want if we tried our luck with Man Utd. Perfect storm at the moment with Amorim not fully keen and Garnacho considering options. He'll be marmite for a lot of people, but I'd be confident if he was playing in Europe we'd be all excited for him. Still a raw player in there that can be moulded to how you want, and a direct RW in how Murphy has been can be that for him. With option he can also play LW in future years too. Decision making the part he needs to improve loads, but he's 20 and got a high ceiling to tap into.
  20. Think Dan Burn is near nail on to go to World Cup unless he gets injured IMO. Bang in form, Tuchel likes him and if it's between him and Maguire for that LCB experience spot, he's easily ahead.
  21. Bowen is shit in truth. He’s been rolled out for England and just sticks out like a sore thumb. Scores goals in Prem, but it’s clear it doesn’t translate well elsewhere and probably why no club has really made a push for him.
  22. Forgot Wharton not in there Fuck this is a waste of time under Tuchel. Likes of Wharton should be well bedded in as we go to WC then into a home Euros.
  23. Walker over Tino is stupid.
  24. Amorim has shown nothing to deserve more time. They consistently look fucking shit and out of ideas against Premier League sides, the bread and butter to succeed. Slapping Cunha and some RWB in the side isn’t going to shift things up. For all of the possession Man Utd had yesterday, there was NO patterns of play to open up Spurs. Crosses were best option and didn’t latch onto that idea till final 5 mins when it was desperation mode again. The best chance somehow in the whole half was to Spurs in their only attack, two v one where Solanke fucked it. There are no green shoots in his time there, taking over a team 4 points off UCL, and won a cup last two seasons, to think he is the guy. I hope they do keep him though, because 3 at the back will heavily limit how far they can go, but Ratcliffe has sacked managers for a lot less at Nice.
