  1. Thought it was he questioned Amorim appointment, wanted more time to evaluate team suitability, preferred a prem based manager and Ratcliffe felt he was not doing his job by wanting to do his job. He’s a slimy fuck (Ashworth), but he was spot on. Brought in to revamp squad, but then have hands tied by being giving a manager that wouldn’t be flexible and you have to sign players to suit that formation. Probably was best for his reputation to get out and let Berrada fall by the decision long term.
  2. All the moments men on for Villa now.
  3. Watkins on for McGinn and just go for it.
  4. Villa have been so bad and naive defensively.
  5. I thought it was good. PSG not great defensively and it nearly forced an error. They need to press high, but be faultless which they weren’t for that goal.
  6. Sort of stuff that will piss him off and want out, whilst Rashford and Asensio move back to clubs and Aston Villa left holding their dick.
  7. At least it was that cunt that fucked it.
  8. Yea, just can never predict with PSG. Whats different though is having a legit LB, and a lot more balanced CM. Like Ugarte was proper stinky in that game, then their attack this season is such a joined up fluid power machine. But it’s PSG, can easily be 3-0 down in 15 mins and it not be a shock.
  9. Obvs, Saudis giving us £5m for Dubs or £10m for Vlach would be nice.
  10. Unless a really good GK is attainable that doesn’t compromise our budget, I think a GK will be held off till 2026. If we improve elsewhere, the GK should be serviceable till then. Because the needle moves only slightly with an upgrade, whilst elsewhere it moves a lot more.
  11. It’s so much money going out of the game, it’s disgusting. Horse has bottled though, but they can still try and tighten things.
  12. Burnley don’t go up, CJ would be a long term option. Think sign to loan back would work well. Still really like Chalobah for the low cost he’d be (expect he’s attainable for less than £20m). The real big statement move if Barcelona need funds would be getting Arajuo for me. Does feel if we want to take a significant step next season though, the CB and RW have to be legit top end players that make other clubs take notice and completely change how they would approach playing us. UCL so key because that changes everything.
  13. I couldn’t care less about the little attention we get, because we know ourselves how well we are playing. Happy for them to take the piss out of Man Utd again and again. Will never get bored of that.
  14. Joelinton / Gordon / Miley main three. Would expect Lascelles/Dubs was automatic extension so shouldn’t command agent fees, then it’s the transfers we made in Vlac / Kelly / Osula and Hall (which I assume would’ve been paid agent wise when deal was made permanent). Still feels way higher than it ought to be. Been bent over by an agent or two in those deals somewhere.
  15. How did we spend so much on agent fees? Another one we can throw shade at Kelly for?
  16. All ifs and buts, but they could be 6th level on points with Villa in 7th as they next play away to Spurs, who could have a new manager bounce Football can change quick.
  17. As much of a blow it is to lose Howe, it’s better it happened like at this stage of season than earlier in season. At this stage, everything is set in stone. Fitness work is done, formations are done, training is in motion. It’s about R&R and using previous games to make minor tweaks, which you expect the coaching staff to do. It’s the motivational aspect that’s lost, but that’s when your senior pros (which we have plenty of) step up to fill the void.
  18. We need to move away from Mitchell/KWP as being freebies. They’re very limited players. Rather we signed some raw youngsters then saddle ourselves with players that don’t improve us, with them just being a recognised name.
  19. Forest sliding out and not get Europe would be wild for the position they were in. Fair chance they lose a couple of top players, coupled with the peak from likes of Wood ending and the hangover going into next season and being back in the bottom half mix. Hope they get conference league at worse (if we get UCL). At least they would enjoy it as a club unless Chelsea who have treated it as a hindrance.
  20. Famous last words, but didn’t realise Chelsea play Liverpool too before us. I could see them getting at best one point in their next 2 games, where after our game with them, we could be (even with a draw to Villa) 11 clear and them out of it
  21. All games are big now, but the Palace one for me is huge. Kept saying I’d rather have a cushion and manage that gap, and the Palace game if we win would do just that. 5 clear of Villa and Chelsea, where if Villa were to go out to PSG, the pressure is more on them needing to win which plays into our hands. Even if we were to lose, I don’t fancy Chelsea to beat Fulham away, so we can just open up a cushion again by beating Ipswich at home. Essentially a win against Palace helps us put pressure on the others in upcoming games, rather than it falling on us.
  22. Sure it was pointed out on a recent MNF (or maybe elsewhere) where more sides are going with the mid block and high press, and for me, we seem to be the best at it for our team. Arsenal and Liverpool to a degree adopt a similar approach, maybe a bit higher defensive line which you’d expect with their recovery pace/expected dominance in most games, but they will sit mid block and press high for mistakes in games they know they won’t dominate. You can’t sit deep, otherwise you are further away from goal to attack (as we’re seeing with Man Utd) and you can’t really squeeze super high with a high defence as we’ve see in peak Klopp/Pep as it seems more these days teams have the physicality to exploit space. Essentially we’re in the right path for the style that’s in right now and getting success. Will shift towards end of decade as football evolves, but it’s nice to be part of this.
  23. Yes. But of course Man Utd fans will rightly defend him because he’s their player, and still will defend to the hill like they’re doing with Hojlund.
  24. Madueke I maintain is the closest, who can come inside, but equally be a direct RW as he showed against Ipswich yesterday. One of those players that people will be underwhelmed by because of his face value stats, but I’m confident due to his high ability Howe would get a higher output from.
  25. Wilson contract weighted a bit towards appearances, and we’re being kind with this appearances to boost up his retirement funds after missing 50% of Newcastle games in his career?
