  1. Him around as the emergency 5th choice CB is fine. Shouldn’t be needed outside of low level cup games.
  2. PSG are the style of side I want us to be in time. Hard pressing, pace and movement in attack, ball retention in middle. Just rather our more unit sized midfielders because it’s needed in Prem. Instead of this inverted crap with full backs and tippy tappy possession for possession sake. Howe it feels like is taking us more PSG direction than the latter which is good.
  3. Only so long you can play men deep and keep smashing it long, till the chances rack up so much you concede goals. Can’t do same 2nd leg.
  4. When you see this Dortmund side got to the final last season, there’s always hope for competent sides each season of getting to UCL final.
  5. Diasi is an awful player. Why I can’t agree that Villa know what they’re doing with their transfers.
  6. Deserved really. Been all PSG.
  7. We can relegate them officially when we play them. In which case, as soon as the whistle goes, make the offer and get him signed by 6pm that evening.
  8. Hopefully Fernandes plays in the deep CM 2 for this. He’s the only player I fear, and him further away from our box, needing to track Tonali / Joe (depending on what side Fernandes is) the better. Expect us to be aggressive as hell, especially with game wedged in between Lyon games for them. We will score goals, just about us not conceding as many at home.
  9. Game time this season will be limited, as it will for all outside the core XI (Gordon/Barnes/Murphy only rotation). One game a week, it’ll be roll with near same XI and changes in final 10 unless game is dead and buried either way. Next season, depending how we finish, he could be needed first early games for Euro qualifying and starting several games by October. If we’re in UCL, he’s got to be trusted to start league games as rotation will be needed then.

Confidence is a wonderful thing in football. If he’s rediscovered that and the talent scouting was correct, there can still be a good player. Good enough to play for us as a top 6 side different debate, but one where we can get a good fee and he makes a long successful career in Europe.
  11. Loaning him out would be the most stupid decision yet. Not only lose him for European places, but then have to replace him at a cost, then risk him not even playing on loan and confidence gone.
  12. Inter still faves for me. They’re such a workmanlike side under Inzaghi, many people don’t realise how hard they are to break down when they’re on it.
  13. Saka cheat code corners back
  14. I don’t mind them. They know what they are and stick to it. Whilst Man Utd for example try and act differently whilst wanting to be the same.
  15. Shame Vini fucked that. Would’ve been a funny goal to concede.
  16. God I hope Real Madrid absolutely destroy Arsenal. Been meh all season, and a bumming by Real in first leg at home is what their season deserves.
  17. Likes of Man Utd / Chelsea as home games are better for us weirdly. Seem always bring A game to those, as shown with Gordon home stats against those type of sides. Palace (H) midweek is my biggest fear. Just has all the hallmarks of a drab game , where we go behind and chase losing all shape.
  18. Just seen their next home game is against Liverpool Surely if you are a fan, after 8 home defeats and 0 goals, you don’t turn up for that on a Sunday 4:30? Like, have some self respect and do something else.
  19. We had like 5 attacks, scored 3 goals and of the other 2, one was a last ditch block by Coady. Can’t expect to score 7, but when that 2nd went in, the floodgates were open if we really wanted it.
  20. New terminology will be replaced with it soon and an arbitrary start date to reinforce, because at end of the day, Sky etc will want to push narratives around games and it needs that. Big ‘8’ where they can hype up the Villa v Spurs game or Newcastle v Chelsea, where it wasn’t there few seasons back.
  21. Didn’t make March call ups, get him in the summer ones Tommy. Far better option as the wildcard RW than someone like Bowen.
  22. Theres nothing inverted about his play He’s driving down the wing with the ball and overlapping. He’ll be fine at RB. People forget when he was at RB his instructions were mostly to sit deeper (we see it with Trippier now). And he can’t really overlap as Murphy does that width and hit byline. It’s just his crossing is weirdly better on left foot than his right

Everyone was off it yesterday, but this guy does need to chill a bit doesn’t he? Came on seemingly wanting to play at a pace that was beyond the coordination from head to his feet Not sure about LW, would rather have him stretching defences as the striker off bench.

    Harvey Barnes

He’s doing well. Producing when needed, even if overall highs are not close to what Gordon has giving us. Long may it continue because we need to get into a position where we can have 5 across the three forward positions, where rotation can be made and performance levels remain the same. Too often we end up needing to run the main three into the ground due to a reluctance to rotate at times.
