  1. I don’t think we will at all approach this game thinking it’s an easy win. If anything the opposite, we treat it as a super hard game, play within ourselves and concede far too much respect to Man Utd who can grow into the game. The league cup is the benchmark for me. We smelt blood in that first half after an early attack, and just went ruthless. End of last season game, that was an even worse Man Utd side, and we treated it like they were some top team and backed off too much.
  2. Missing out on UCL to Forest will be jokes
  3. The two key battles will be our midfield against theirs (our pace v the serious lack of theirs in there) then their attack against our defence (their serious pace v lack of ours there). The other key will be to get the crowd silent early on and groaning. The more their crowd gets involved, regardless of Man Utd form over the years, they can shift momentum quick against run of play as we’ve seen many times.
  4. It’s either going to be like the league cup game where we steam roll them first half, or like last seasons league game where we just keep shooting ourselves in the foot. Can’t see anything in between and a draw.
  5. Perfect player for Real Madrid and a good time to move. Won everything there is to win at Liverpool and gets to play for Real Madrid in his peak years.
  6. Yes, he’ll count as club developed. Wouldn’t be shocked if we signed Freddie Woodman on a free this summer to get another HG on the books as part of the GK group.
  7. So what’s the reason? All people say is “Because his attitude stinks / performances crap”. Like, so are 90% of rest of the team? Yet some experienced guys such as Martinez get a free pass for a stinky performance after stinky performance. Get the reason to probably wanting to move him on as he’s getting to last window to get a fee and Garnacho is the future, but the way the fans are lapping up the Amorim stance is weird. Been the same for many many more players before Rashford when a manager has taken a stance and nothing has changed
  8. Why do people think dropping Rashford is some masterstroke? He's just the latest string of players that's been made a scapegoat. Zirkzee attitude and effort on the pitch looks worse than anything Rashford does. Guy scored in opening 2 Prem games under Amorim when starting, and since then, they've scored 4 in 5. I find it amazing the buy in Amorim has got from so many people because he talks well Think he has dazzled Ratcliffe in a conversation too. He's not going to be allowed to make wholesale changes, because there's a lot of money tied up in this squad, and it's a relatively new squad Take their best starting XI on paper arguably: Onana: Yoro, De Ligt, Martinez: Mazzaori, Ugarte, Mainoo, Shaw: Garnacho, Fernandes: Hojlund One player there (Shaw) taken out. Rest is new people in past 18 months or the club captain on a new mega deal
  9. Been over this before in previous windows. If a sale is there for a player, sell them. Don't keep them in case the worse happens, as we then miss out on valuable money and we end up like we are currently with Almiron, Wilson etc.
  10. There’s a difference to knowing the situation and the results that come afterwards. Like I said, I think it’s very much head in sands if Man Utd fans think Ratcliffe will be happy to write off a season and there’s no consequences. Amorim is likely a good coach, don’t have the success over many domestic seasons as he’s had and not be. But that doesn’t always automatically translate to other sides / domestic leagues, and Ratcliffe will only be caring about the Ws on a sheet, in same way he only cares about the numbers on a spreadsheet when it comes to all these cost cutting measures.
  11. No, he’ll be sacked. Man Utd fans will want to believe their narrative that this is open heart surgery, going to painful before it gets better, going to take time. But I can sure as hell guarantee, Ratcliffe has not bought Man Utd for big money just to improve processes etc. he’ll be wanting to be at the top table, winning the top competitions and if that’s not coming, people will be losing their jobs. Whether that’s Wilcox / Brailsford etc or Amorim, time will tell, but it’s often the manager that goes. Ashworth has already been discarded by Ratcliffe for seemingly not doing what was expected. So what’s there to believe if Amorim finishes 10th he keeps his job? Europa may save him, but then what happened with ETH may go against Amorim, as in “Don’t let a cup win influence the decision if league form has been shit”.
  12. Wonder if we’d be open to a deal to a championship side who have a strong chance of going up. Like Leeds on loan with obligation to buy if they go up for £20m. Feels that would open up potential list of clubs to buy.
  13. No-one is signing Dibling for his goal output, they’re signing for him for his level of composure, technical ability and footballing IQ at such a young age. The skill set you dream of working with to mould into the player you want whilst still learning. We spent £30m on Lewis Hall after 8 prem games, so Dibling for more is fair value since attackers usually carry more weight.
  14. He’s experience is needed, but he needs to keep it together off the pitch too.
  15. Just be more pace in the side. Think we'll struggle because of the output from yesterday, but there's no reason we can't be solid as a unit and attack them on the counter with the transitional dominance in the centre of the pitch. Best giving them much of the ball since there's no Bruno, because the shot from outside the box isn't there and likes of Garnacho / Diallo / Hojlund etc. are better when there's space behind. Even though they're shit right now, will happily take a point and target the Spurs game as the win.
  16. Rashford could get another manager sacked by not even playing. So powerful. Saying it’s going to take while and be painful, then losing loads, will only last so long for Amorim. Has to show improvements as I doubt he got the job by saying “I will need to spend £100m+”. So if he starts to ask for players because the ones can’t work in his system, why did the club hire him? Feels like club knew ETH was a busted flush, had to take the L, and just went with the manager who’s got the biggest rep and willing to join mid season. I don’t think Man Utd hierarchy have thought anything longer term.
  17. I think we will sign someone who’s a future prospect (like Tino/Hall type of player), knowing they shouldn’t be needed as a starter, but plenty of time to bed them in ready to replace Schar. RW will come down to an opportunistic buy. If a target is there that’s good value, we’ll make a move, otherwise it’s go with what we got till summer and no need to have to sell desperately by end of June to balance books.
  18. Agree, defenders that are regularly needing to do slide tackles are red flags for me. Because it usually means their positional play to start off with was wrong if needing to recover with a slide and/or, they’re hot headed and like to slide which increases the risk of giving away penalties.
  19. When we play like we did yesterday, I swing back towards all in on Eddie and give him his players Because when it clicks it’s bloody good fun.
  20. Sibierski

    Tosin Adarabioyo

Avoid? If Chelsea are angling for him as a sale (as they will need two in the summer) then go for Madueke.
  21. Amorim will get a lot of leeway because he talks well and he’s got people buying into his narrative of “We will be proper shit before we are good”. Which is all well and good, but if the proper shit goes all way to end of seasons, at what point do you go “Is the good actually coming?”
  22. Christ I hope we proper put the sword into them on Monday.
  23. Very good. Bit slow in some situations, but calm and that defending at back post for 2-0 was his experience reading the situation where you don’t need pace.
