GK and CB transforms our first XI into a title contending first XI for me. A back up striker doesn't. Obviously squad depth is important but a keeper and defender to improve the first XI is more important imo. Mbuemo or similar added to that who can play up front if needed would be amazing. But we'll always have games like we did last week away to sides like Villa, City and Liverpool while we have Pope/Dubravka in goal and a slow CB pairing. You just had to watch Martinez effortlessly playing 40 yard passes into Watkins feet to see how transformational it'd be to have a keeper of our own like that.

There's not a great deal wrong with the starting XI (I'd say Trafford and Huijsen would walk into the team, though). All four greatly strengthen the first 20 which has been our issue. People were saying the same about our window 2 summers ago and it's turned out perfectly. This seems a similar one.

Felt sorry for him against us. Had nothing around him to give him any service. Get him on our bench, last 15 minutes of games the old Barnes/Vardy combo could still do a job I reckon. Still got a decent goals return this season despite the shite he's been surrounded by.

Aye, if you think 26-27 points would probably keep 17th safe this season, it's natural the rest of the league's average points tally will be higher per position. Every other team is tracking for over a point per game at least when normally 35-36 points might be enough.

If we're two ahead of Chelsea and Forest, only 1 could overtake us so we'd be guaranteed at least 5th in that scenario .
