1878
I really don't see how some people see Baines as one of the best left-backs in the league. I wasn't that fussed about signing him, thought he was just a decent full back and no more. Had some worries about his size and actual defending. I've been pleasantly surprised by how good he actually is though especially since he's not fully fit yet. Great outlet going forward, pretty comfortable in possession, decent cross on him, cracking long range shot and for such a slight guy he doesn't let much past him. For me, there isn't one stand out left back in this league. Ashley Cole doesn't look the player he was at Arsenal imo. I'd say him, Baines, Evra, Bale (early days yet mind) and Clichy are all much of a muchness.
ElDiablo
How many would have put Barton in before he signed? Not many imo. What's he got that say, Barry hasn't?
1878
How many would have put Barton in before he signed? Not many imo. What's he got that say, Barry hasn't? Different type of player to Barry though isn't he? I'd say Barry is a more cultured, technical player who I'm guessing will get a lot of assists over the season. Barton is more of an aggressive, box to box player. Bit of a poor mans Steven Gerrard. My team would have both of them in Gordon Richards King Lescott Baines Arteta Barton Cahill Barry Elano Anelka
Thespence
Nobody picking any of the Champions players , I know Man Utd have had sticky start & are in 8th postion in the league but come on.
Guest kingdawson
Given Lauren - Richards - Woodgate - Barry Pederson - Cahill - Barton - Arteta Anelka - Owen Manager: Sven Funny, no spurs player in that team. Well the thread title said best and i wasnt going to lie King and Keane came close tho, but i prefer richards at CB so kind had to make way for the RB Lauren and Anelka just pipped Keane to it, Owen is bound to come good and bang in a lot imo Keane over Berbatov? King came close but was pipped by bloody lauren? Pedersen as a right midfielder?
johnnypd
Given Chimbonda Yobo Lescott Richards Arteta Elano Muntari Pederson Anelka Berbatov geremi, zoggy, owen just miss out. strange choice putting richards at left-back but both him and chimbonda have to be in there and i'm sure richards could play LB if he tried. Guest johnnyappleseed
I really don't see how some people see Baines as one of the best left-backs in the league. at least he plays left back though. so many people putting bale in their squads and he hasn't played left back yet. Maybe i should say this slowly for the spuds fan RICHARDS is prefered at CB eliminating king from the team, so the rb chosen is Lauren! Well thats what i said about Keane and Pederson interchanging with Arteta but maybe i should make more c considerations of spuds players cus they will always be applying for a position in this list! Geordie Boot Boy
I'm surprised that so many would have Bentley in their teams. Wow you really are slow as hell. You said Keane was close and you never mentioned Berbatov which clearly indicates your opinion that Keane is a better player then Berbatov :idiot2: . Your decision to include Lauren in any sort of best x1 team clearly shows either: a) favouritism of former Arse players b) Lack of football knowledge Pedersen is not a right winger no matter how you look at it so i fail to see how he can possibly be (in your delusional opinion) the best rm outside the top 4.
