GG
Walcott perhaps should be in the squad, but there is no way that he should get an automatic start, Defoe and Crouch are ahead of him f'sure, you need experience for this game.

Maybe, maybe not. Defoe has struggled to make an impact for 18 months at Tottenham. He is decent though. Can't ignore the lanky streak of piss that is Peter Crouch but its quite depressing to actually say that. Walcott has done well at Arsenal.
Mr. Snrub
Don't see why anyone wouldn't want Beckham playing. When playing well he is instrumental to the team with his passing and set pieces, not to mention his influence on the pitch. Hmm, who put a good ball in for Crouch on Friday.. Again, its a bit odd that we have absolutely nobody challenging him. SWP etc still can't kick his arse. Lampard has never done it at that level. Gerrard is looking off form and if Barry is an international footballer then I am sure the rest of Europe are shitting themselves. Crouch and some other pleb up front? Honestly, the international team is pretty poor tbh. This Golden Generation bollocks is just that. Utter bollocks.
midds
One of the few things that ginger prick got right was binning Beckham. He was producing next to nothing in his last few games and he was correctly dropped. However, he buckled and gave in to pressure from the media and recalled him, the spineless twat. He should have stuck to his guns and found a replacement who actually had a future in the game. The day Beckham signed for LA he basically retired from competitive football. He's not fit and has barely kicked a ball for months and he still gets picked because he's nearly got 100 caps. What happened to building a squad for the future? SWP, Bentley, Walcott, Lennon should all be tried out there rather than wheeling out this wanker in the vain hope of filling Wembley and giving little David his 100th cap. Fuck off McClaren. Not one of the players you mention got near the form Beckham did for Madrid though. Basically there is fuck all there. Milner has held down the slot in the U21s fo years and wont do it, Walcott is too raw. Bentley, Lennon and SWP are decent but not exactly top class. Sadly, the Ginger prick was given little alternative given the form of Beckham earlier in the year and the lack of talent here. Perhaps Joe Cole would be better than the alternatives there but again he isnt top class either and then we have fuck all on the left (not that he especially good there). Guest kingdawson
Going on form this season Walcott has done more than both and deserves a chance I have since gone back and said Bent instead of Smith ummmmm wrong again. Bent has hit 3 goals in 4 premiership starts and has looked lively. So how exactly has Walcott done more than him again this season?

A match at home against an ordinary team who has nothing to play for, only needing a draw to go through. McClaren will never be as lucky again if he lives to be 100. Jamie
-------------------Carson------------------- Brown-------Richards----Campbell---Bridge SWP---------Lampard-----Barry--------Cole ----------Gerrard-------------------------------- -------------------Crouch------------------------ Or have Barry drop infont of Richards and Campell and slot Gerrard in CM, then have one of Gerrard or Lampard bombing on from time to time, but still having plenty cover. 2-0 Lampard Campbell
chicago_shearer
^ I think that line-up will be what he does. Possible pushing Cole up. Prediction: 1-1, Beckham free kick late on, paper over cracks.
Dave
SkySports are televising the Wales v France U21 game from Cardiff, in which Charles N'Zogbia is expected to feature (kickoff 8pm).
Offshore
Carson Richards Lescott Campbell Bridge Barry Gerrard Beckham Cole a forward Crouch Haven't a clue which other forward he'll pick as there's none of them that really stands out tbh, if I had to make a choice, i'd probably go with Defoe, not other reason than he's more mobile than Smith. He may even go 5 in the middle and have Lampard on from the start.
Guest doghair
IMHO the team should be - ---------------------------------Carson------------------------------------- --Brown--------------Richards----------Campbell--------------Bridge- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------Cole--------Gerrard-----Barry------------------------ ------SWP----------------------------------------------------------Young---- -------------------------------Crouch/Bent---------------------------------- change cole for lampard and thats what i will pick

brummie
Not the most reliable of sources (John Burridge) (incidentally, one of my favourite players ever) but: Alan Shearer is set to be the next manager of England. I understand from people from high places in the Football Association that they have approached the former England captain for the job. The FA has met Shearer twice over the past week and the ex-Newcastle striker is believed to be keen to take over from current boss Steve McClaren once England's Euro 2008 qualifying campaign is over. Similar approaches were made to West Ham boss Alan Curbishley and Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill but both men turned the job down. I understand that no matter what the result is against Croatia tommorow, McClaren's fate as manager has been sealed. That will be his final game is charge. Lack of experience could make it difficult for him but with a decent assistant I think he could do a good job. Van Basten has done O.K, after all. As did Klinsmann.
