LoveItIfWeBeatU
Very telling I think that Duff has replaced Smith as fourth choice striker, and that Smith didn't even come off the bench. I don't think Keegan rates him, and Smith will be taking that wage cut Everton are offering him by September 1st. You'd think Smith would ask for a transfer. That's why he left Man U to come to us, to get regular games. If Everton want him surely he'd rather go there to play than sit on our bench? He wouldn't play here either when everyone is fit, even though our squad is tiny. The last rumour I heard on this was that Moyes wasn't happy with Smith's attitude and lack of willingness to drop his wage for a move to go through. The only reason I thought he would get a game at Everton was because Moyes supposedly wanted to buy him (therefore you would assume that he would want to play him). James
With Milner being prefered up front to Smith, Smith is now our sixth choice striker.
TRon
He's our lucky talisman. Every time he stays off the pitch we get a result.
James
Keegan says he'd only use Alan Smith in a crisis. Because he's injured, or because he's shit?

Incognito
Keegan says he'd only use Alan Smith in a crisis. Because he's injured, or because he's shit? Maybe Spuds will buy him then.
Newcastle Fan
"Oba was feeling his groin, so he'll be out for two to three weeks. I just put Smith on there to make the bench look good" If this means what i think it does then
JH
I think it means Smith is injured, and he doesn't want to use him while he's not ready. He only had him on the bench to make our options look better.

Kitman
If Smith and Ameobi went it would actually improve the squad. I'd love to see Keegan say "Best of luck to Alan Smith. Since I've been here his attitude and work rate have been fantastic and he's a great pro to have around the dressing room. So it's shame that he's a terrible footballer and a useless striker and I can't do a thing with him. Still we wish him well and we look forward to playing against him." Guest Pie
£3m for Smith eclipses the £12m for Milner imo Nah. I'd keep Smith. Not for talent, just for another body. Still prefer him to Milner as it happens.
robm
They are getting excited on the Everton Forums quote] Fucking hell it just gets better! what the fuck do we want him for! a striker who doesnt score! [link] [/quote1220225588] You're selling Alan Smith short. He's not just a striker who can't score. He's also a midfielder who can't tackle, dribble, pass or defend. And he's a little cunt. He's the full package.
