Vote: SportsDirect.com logo on the Gallowgate

Recommended Posts

As it's been mentioned in another thread, I just wondered what people's thoughts are on the advertising at the Gallowgate end.

Originally it was just written on a white board but it's now a proper sign with individually mounted lettering.

This is the only picture I can find for now. If someone has a better one please post it and I'll amend this OP.

Wouldn't it have been better to do it like this?

You know, with one of those scoreboard thingies I've heard so much about.

what a good photo!

seriously though, it does make one of the best grounds in England look like an out-of-town retail park. Wouldn't some club crests or THIS IS NEWCASTLE or black and white stripes all the way along look better?

He's tidied it up a bit.  It looked really tacky beforehand, but it looks fine now.  No complaints here.  Although others will have.

I'd never seen it till the Spurs fan that took this photo pointed it out with my season ticket being in the Gallowgate End.

That's the old logo I think ? New one really doesn't bother me though, the whole stadium looks pretty damn ugly anyway (as a whole not as a structure if you know what I mean)  so it's hardly going to ruin the horrible old roof by having a new logo on it.

As I said in the OP, it doesn't look like that any more.
