memories of your first ever away match,

Recommended Posts

QPR about 86-87,  it was my best mates birthday, we would've been about 13 and i went with his dad and cousin.  Sure it finished 1-1 but Gazza got sent off, also remember sme toon fans threw a firework on the pitch which burnt a hole in their crappy plastic pitch!!  We went by car and as we were getting the ground ended up behind the escort for the coaches, we parked up behind the buses but quite a way from the ground.  After the game the coaches had been brought right outside the away end, we didn't have a clue where we'd left the and it took ages to find the car!!  At least the traffic had gone by the time we left!!

Leeds away 4-3. Sat about 10 rows from the front just to the left of the goal. Don't really remember much about it really, just my dad lifting me up when we scored and people being all over the place. All the toon players were celebrating right in front on me when we scored aswell.

A bit painful. Man U 6, Toon 0. 1968. George Best got a hat trick and absolutely destroyed us.

wow year i was born, can u remember date?

Not the date, no, but it was near the end of the season. Second or third last game.

And believe it or not, McFaul played a bit of a blinder. It was rather grim.

Man City, in Souness' last game. I'd like to think i had something to do with his sacking, "Souness OUT".

That day we got raped by Joey Barton. All our fans were singing "get your axe out for the lads".

Spurs 96/97 when we won 2-1 after being a goal down. Think Sir Les got both of them, Rory Allen scored for them and Ronnie Rosenthal missed an absolutely sitter in the dying minutes.

coca-cola cup 1996. 1-0 at Anfield. Steve Watson's chip. Magic. How did people get the team and date of their games, wouldn't mind finding it.

Carlisle in 1982. It was Keegans 1st season as a player here, but he was out injured. We signed Howard Gayle on loan to replace him.

We lost 2-0, but i was just thrilled to be at my 1st away game. The atmosphere was great as we almost had as many fans as they did.

There was a fantastic convoy of coaches snaking along the A69.
