It's hard not to be impressed with Bale tbh. To have a pair of games against the European champions like he has will have put him near the top of every shopping list of huge clubs all over Europe. Quality LW like Bale are in short supply and the fact the lad is only about 21 means he'll develop and get better.

Honestly, the best thing he could do is move to either Barca or Real in the summer. Would be the making of him.

Eh? that would more than likely ruin him.

Why?

Playing abroad for a team like Real or Barca would be fantastic for him. He's young enough that even if it didn't work out he cold come back a stronger person and better for the experience. If he played well he'd be absolutely adored by both sets of fans.

Worst case scenario would be if he went and didn't get a game. He'd be back in a year or 2 playing for Man Utd.

Real would not be a good move for him. The ideal situation for Bale is to stay with us a few years and grow as a player imo BUT if he was to move on it's painfully obvious that Man United would be the best move for him to grow as a player.

No, going abroad and playing a different style of football in a different culture would be best for growing as a player.

No it wouldn't. He hasn't won titles or anything major in this country yet and is only 21. Maybe in a few years it might help him but right now it would be pretty stupid risking his growing reputation by making the move abroad at such a young age.  Let him master our style of football before thinking about experiencing other styles.

Do Garay and Di Maria not count?

Garay looked awesome at Santander but Madrid obviously don't have confidence in him just yet. H'll probably be loaned out to another team soon enough and sold the season after. Di Maria has started well but jury still out.

Bale playing for Barca would be fantastic. It'd be great for the player, learning how to play one and two touch football, and playing with three of the most intelligent players in the world would transform his movement and anticipation. Pep also makes his wingers work and defend so that'll be good for him too.

Also, he wouldn't have to see Harry Redknapp's face every day.

Marca reporting Atlético have offered Forlán to Real Madrid for €18m

they broke or something?

Yes, they actually are. Second or third highest debt in the league IIRC (higher than ours). Makes sense they would like to cash in now that Diego is 31 and still a marquee name... but Real Madrid? The board that sanctioned this move would be sleeping with the fishes of the Manzanares the morning after.
