Strong rumours down here that we're signing Heskey.

Hmmm.

How is that beneficial to you?. Heskey's a decent player but he's very similiar to Carew. What happens when you're a goal down in a game and you need to change things? Heskey isn't exactly going to get you a goal from nothing is he.

Pogrebnyak is a much better option as he actually scores (as well as everything else Heskey is capable of).

Heskey=Carew if you want to look at it in basic terms. what he would offer is a substitute/rival for Carew's position which they dont really have atm, other than errrr Harewood. agree though that Pogrebnyak would be better, based on what ive seen. if he is available on a loan id love us to bring him here.

probably not true but talk about fall from grace

Wigan and Bolton are chasing Manchester City and England defender Micah Richards for £5m. (The Sun)

---

again probably not true but if true, get him in

Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce is checking on Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen who could be available for £2m. (The Sun)

If the Richards thing is true we should try and get him in as part of the Given deal, I've always thought he was pretty good at right back.

Why are Middlesbrough so intent on exchanging Mido for an inferior striker?

Because Mido is fat, undisciplined, Lazy, a bad influence, on big wages and is as likely to score another PL goal between now and May as you or I.

King sounds like a bad apple but he's fit, quick, strong and direct, and not likely to go AWOL.

if he gets 5 goals between now and May, keeping us up, then he can be shifted on elsewhere with a great reference and a back pocket full of dough (not the kind Mido likes - wrapped around half a pound of mince).

Precisely.

Heskey is like Carew. Carew hasn't played a match in over two months now.

So Boro potentially make an astute signing like King, who would have helped our cause up front massively and we are left trying to pick up free-bees. What a joke.

King's no great improvement in the likes of Ameobi iyam. That would have been a waste of time and effort when you consider what a cunt he is aswell.

Sunderland have enquired about Fiorentina defender Manuel da Costa

Black Cats boss Ricky Sbragia has admitted he is in the market for a new stopper as he looks to solve the defensive problems at the Stadium of Light.

A number of players have been linked with Sunderland and Portugal Under 21 international Da Costa is among Sbragia's targets.

Da Costa is considering his future at Fiorentina after failing to establish himself as a regular in Cesare Prandelli's side.

A number of sides are believed to be monitoring the central defender's situation at the Artemio Franchi and the player's agent Frank Peslerbe admits Sunderland have expressed an interest in the former PSV Eindhoven star.

"I have spoken with Sunderland about Manuel, but there is nothing concrete at the moment," Peslerbe told skysports.com.

"Sunderland are looking for a defender and they have spoken about signing Manuel.

"Manuel would be interested in a move to Sunderland or any other team as he just wants to play.

"He has a problem at Fiorentina in that he does not play and he is ready to move.

"It depends on the Fiorentina coach Prandelli to see if they will let him leave to play."

King's a championship standard striker - if you think he was injured long term during Watford's season so you can't judge him on that. Then he spent 6 months at Wigan and scored I think 1 goal (pen), and was farmed out to Hull, where he did ok at first but I've barely heard him mentioned for the last few months. I'd rather we bought a young striker with potential from the Championship because King has done little to suggest he is above that level. Also, he's a cunt.

He looked quality at PSV a while back, not seen him recently though.

Sky Sports Sources: Hull have agreed a £5m fee with Fulham for Jimmy Bullard.

Could never see him moving to Hull fwiw, that's very much a sideways step at best for a player who was flirting with the England squad about four or five months ago.

Don't understand why Wigan don't keep King, perfect backup for Heskey/Zaki IMO.

I am sure Bruce & King have had a tiff.

King is a complete t*** of a man.

Totally true. He's fallen out with pretty much every manager he's worked with in the last 4 seasons or so.

Allowed?

He punched Boothroyd whilst at Watford and was dropped for ages with it being called a long term injury.

Yep. He also got a whack in the mouth from Ben Foster just before Foster left, according to Aidy Mariappa. I love Ben Foster.
