Unbelievable Niko Kranjar signs for Tottenham for £2.5M

What a steal

Why did no other club try to buy Kranjar at this price. We are not professionals and we don't know Kranjar was in last year of his contract. However surely all those agents, scouts, managers do.

Mental overreactions everytime spurs have a  good start tbh. They either start well or end well, never both.

By chance of probability Spurs will eventually end up 5th after numerous try. And Spurs would have earned the right, as they do the business the right way, and have been consistently trying hard, despite bad lucks, oversights etc.

I don't necessarily think that Kranjar is a top 5 club player. But 2.5M for his calibre, what a steal !

Here's my "shut up Jol, we don't give a s***" moment.

Ki Sung-Yong, the Korean international I've been bigging up on here occasionally (along with Lee Chung-Yong, who's now at Bolton) has agreed to join Celtic in January after our domestic season ends.

I think there's a very good chance that he could end up bigger than Park.

(whistles and moves along)

When was there last good start, when they had a good squad?

Shamelessly copied from another site

Stoke have spent around 50 million so far since joining Premiership:

Seyi Olofinjana £3m (recouped) .................. Bad deal

Dave Kitson £5.5m ...................................... Bad deal

Danny Higginbotham £2m ........................... Good deal

Abdoulaye Faye £2.25m .............................. Good deal

Tom Soares £2.5m ...................................... Turned out bad deal, thought it was good deal

Michael Tonge £2m ......................................Turned out bad deal, thought it was good deal

Ibrahima Sonko £2m.................................... Turned out bad deal, thought it was good deal

Amdy Faye £1m............................................ So so

Dean Whitehead £3m.................................. Good deal

James Beattie £3.5m.................................... Turned out good deal, thought it was bad deal

Matty Etherington £3m................................. Turned out good deal, didn't think much of it

Tuncay Sanli £5m.......................................... So so

Robert Huth £6m.......................................... Not sure

Diego Arismendi £2.6m................................. Great deal

Danny Collins £2.75m................................... Good deal

It shows that little amounts add up

2 seasons £50M, each season average £25M

Had this amount been concentrated on a few players, eg 7M, 8M, 9M it would be a lot more noticeable (Aston Villa, Sunderland)

Thomas Sorensen

Andy Wilkinson, Abdoulaye Faye, Ryan Shawcross, Danny Higginbotham

Robert Huth, Danny Collins, Leon Cort

Matthew Etherinton, Glenn Whelan, Liam Lawrence, Tuncay Sanli

Michael Tonge, Tom Soares, Dean Whitehead, Diego Arismendi, Salif Diao, Rory Delap

James Beattie, Ricardo Fuller

Dave Kitson, Mamade Sidibe

Super solid pool of players - impossible to be relegated.

Casting the net really wide, Sam Allardyce Bolton style, Stoke style, is a really good way to consolidate.

However Stoke may now have too many similar ability players?
