Other clubs' transfers

£28m is insane. Very good player and I know it's traditional to rape Man Utd, but it's a silly amount of money that.

It'd make him like the 12th most expensive player in the history of football.

Be interesting to see how Rooney, Tevez and Berb get rotated, if they do.

....................Berb................

.....Tevez.....Rooney...C.Ronaldo

...........Hargreaves..Carrick......

Evra.....Rio.......Vidic.............????

Ouch.

£28m. :nope:

Budget cap ftw. :pow:

Wouldn't work.

What happens if a club sell a player for £20m but their budget cap figure is only £15m? They can't spend the £15m plus the £20m they recouped?

You stupid boy.

Edit: That sounds harsh.

Say club x has a turnover of £100m, club y £50m

Wages are capped at 50% turnover, Net transfer fees capped at 30% turnover

Club x can spend £50m on wages and £30m on transfers (+ whatever they can raise through sales). This leaves £20m to cover the running of the club

Club y can spend £25m and £15m respectively, leaving £10m to run the club.

Any club which makes a loss before transfer activity (i.e  would have to borrow money to buy players) would be docked points based on the extent of the loss. The natural environment would prevent these clubs spending vast amounts on transfer fees

This still gives an incentive to finish higher up the league (higher position = more revenue = more to spend etc) but removes the artifical environment of an Abramovich type figure and would not allow a Leeds to happen.

Regulating that in a global market would be horrendous, but its the only way to make a competitive level playing field (imo anyway)

They could always give their captain Gary Neville a game at rb. Failing that  Wes Brown. After that Danny Simpson or John O'Shea.

What is the financial situation over there? You hear about possible debt, but then they toss 28 million around.

The debt is manageable to MUFC. They still owe 100's of millions of pounds out but they make a operating profit every year.
