Done a good job - only black mark in his book in my opinion is the transfers targets he missed out on when he was learing the ropes - pretty unavoidable really. Before he took over we were looking down the barrel somewhat - now we're a club with the shotgun in our hands.

Didn't kemsley move to america to pursue his other business interests?

Rock Investments, the property company he owns with Daniel Levy, is registered in the US and is building a couple of casinos in Las Vegas.  I believe he spends a lot of time over there but hasn't moved.

all managers have missed targets. sure allardyce said that was the reason but he was well known for using excuses to hide his defficiencies. mort naivety may well have been the reason but i guess we'll never know for sure.

this along with the appointment of Llambas is most likely why Keegan was "summoned" to London a few weeks back for the "showdown talks" after he's spat his dummy about how massive the gap is between us and the so usual top 4 suspects

This is just a rumour, he might still be chairman if he renews his contract, we only took him on for a limited period but we could still extend that period if it suits both parties.

I actually didn't realise the situation regarding his contract, would be very interesting to see who replaces him if were to leave. Would be an extremely vital appointment that can't be taken lightly (no doubt we'd mess it up though...)

I don't think we need more change at the club at this time, we need stability.

Exactly.

I understand that it might be the terms of the agreement and that the club/Chris Mort will have their own (good) reasons for deciding it either way, but as far as NUFC goes, from a purely selfish perspective, it'll do us no good in the immediate future to be changing chairman again, especially if the bloke who takes over has a distinct lack of knowledge about the area, the club and the game itself - which Mort admittedly had last June.

I can understand it if he wants to go back to his family, he'll have to take them into consideration but I don't think it's the best option for the club because a new chairman could come in and change everything and we'll be back to this time last year.

If this did happen- wouldnt the Vice chairmen be primed to take over - wont this be where he learns the ropes like Mort did?

I dont see much issue with the potential loss to be honest,  its been nice having an intelligent aritculated man in charge think its a good look for the club but im sure whoever takesover will be equally astute.

Keegan Walked into that meeting and said, If he ain gonna give me the money,....

Then its 'me or him.'

Astley could see the power of Keegan, and what a fu(k up it would be to lose him,....

CU ltr Mort!

Now go out and spend my half a £billion Kevin

If there's any Newcastle fans who've voted "couldn't give a shit" about the chairman of their club changing, then they want a good bumming.

EDIT: This isn't me offering to dish them out, by the way, despite what cunts like Shak will tell you.

Just looked at Mort's wikipedia. It says that Mort was co-head of the leisure sector at Freshfields, and given that Llambias has also been brought to the club based on his expertise in the leisure industry (plus there is the guy from Newcastle Racecourse with the local knowledge), I think we may be about to swap one for the other.

As for worries about going back to square one, everything has been departmentalised now. Mort had to learn everything, now a new chairman would slot into his team, and only worry about stuff that isn't directly connected to what goes on on the pitch.
