James
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7421046.stm Class look back at the best bits of Euro 96 from the BBC archives. I still yelp at Gazza's miss, plus I couldn't help but laugh at Southgate by the end of the programme. It is an hour long, just so people know. James
One thing that also struck me from watching that video is that it was the last major tournament to be about the fans rather than about corporate sponsors.

Turnbull2000
12 years ago. Jesus christ. I feel so old. Had the TV set up in the garden for Euro 96. No other World Cup/Euro Champ has come close to passion of Euro 96. It was amazing.

pedro111
I can still remember I was on the cross channel ferry back to Dover huddled round a grainy TV with loads of other people watching the Swiss game. I also remember that I fell asleep during the first half of both the Scotland and Spain games! Still gutted by that Gazza miss against Germany. Just a great, great tourney. Robster
I think its all about generations really but while Euro 96 was fantastic, for me, Italia 90 is the best tournament that I have enjoyed. Gazza emerging on the world scene was a joy to behold
