NUFC agreed a contract with this chap before we agreed a fee with the club, we have now agreed a fee with club, so what is the hold up? Medical? 2nd thoughts? Another price increase?

Another player :)

Or the far more likely possibility that there's still some paperwork to go through.

If only football worked like FM...

What paperwork? You have either signed the player or you haven't,  the international clearance can be a arse (Glen Roeder is having a bitch of time) but the club have still signed the player. His more than likely worthless Italian passport could be a stumbling block.

2.5m euros a season isn't THAT much is it? must be what? £50k a week?

Only £38,000 per week actually   Incredible deal if true when you consider we signed the likes of Emre, Duff and Smith and gave them £60,000 per week each..

As I said the international clearance is a bitch as Roeder says but you tell me what is long about the process? Of course I could understand the buying club dragging there heels as every week a player doesn't sign they can save about  £50K+ per week.
