Teasy
Or the far more likely possibility that there's still some paperwork to go through. If only football worked like FM... What paperwork? You have either signed the player or you haven't, the international clearance can be a arse (Glen Roeder is having a bitch of time) but the club have still signed the player. His more than likely worthless Italian passport could be a stumbling block. Is it really that clear cut though? Think your over simplifying things... As I said the international clearance is a bitch as Roeder says but you tell me what is long about the process? Of course I could understand the buying club dragging there heels as every week a player doesn't sign they can save about £50K+ per week. Well Coloccini himself says there's some small details still being sorted out between the clubs, only formalities by the sound of it rather then anything deal breaking though. Dan Gleebals
Realistically if this goes through today, would he be able to play against Valencia? Otherwise, he is going to have one hell of a first game in the premiership, with or without all the players they might have missing.

Teasy
FABRICIO Coloccini will be in the St James’s Park stands tonight as Newcastle United close in on their fourth signing of the summer but Everton are hoping to negate the benefit of a much-needed addition to the Magpies squad by signing striker Alan Smith. Selling Alan Smith will negate the benfit of signing Coloccini? mackems.gif

Selling Alan Smith will negate the benfit of signing Coloccini? mackems.gif Well marking Smudger in training would boost his confidence. But then again, it would threaten his legs, so not sure what to think.
