NE5
Who did Souness beat at the time? I was under the impression he was wank like. But he was backed and that's all that matters. Or used to matter. you haven't got a clue Dave. Sorry like.
Baggio
I'm not sure what Ashley does for fun. If he called watching this team last season fun, and the friendlies so far fun, then he his definition of fun is a long way from mine. it would appear that some people would prefer Mike Ashley to continue to be the owner of Newcastle, and comparatively underfunding his manager, instead of the 6th richest man in the world. No wonder people laugh at geordies, how embarrassing. What do you make of this then? http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/tm_headline= freddie-shepherd-admits-nufc-was-almost-bankrupt %26method=full%26objectid=21461089%26siteid=72703-name_page.html No doubt you'll come up with something interesting. Liam Liam Liam O
stop making things up, I was fairly happy to sell my shares in the hope that he would be a good owner, and said so at the time. Be honest NE5, you were happy to sell your shares just to get a few quid out of it. Some fan you are. No better than Ashley

Guest johnson293
Official denials apparently mean nowt these days.... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/newcastle/2500823/Reliance-hang-up-on-Newcastle-United-but-Anil-Ambani-takeover-is-still-on---Football.html Reliance hang up on Newcastle United but Anil Ambani takeover is still on Indian mobile phone giant Reliance Communications have refuted suggestions that they are about to launch a £260 million takeover of Newcastle United but billionaire chairman Anil Ambani’s interest in St James’ Park could still be very much alive. Despite the denial, there remains a suspicion that the world’s sixth richest man could make a dramatic foray into English football. The company reacted to claims that they were in talks with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley about a takeover with a terse official statement that read: “The news report is completely false and baseless. There are no such plans.” However, experts on sub-continent affairs have greeted the announcement with a pinch of salt and refused to rule out a bid from Ambani, who is worth some £21 billion. “This doesn’t mean that Ambani isn’t interested in investing from his personal wealth outside his company,” said one source. City analysts believe that tentative third-party contact has been made between sports retail magnet Ashley and Ambani and that the telecommunications tycoon has backed off due to the publicity caused by weekend reports. It is also understood Ambani is unhappy about revelations on Sunday that his son attends a private school in Kent due to security concerns and has made a tactical retreat. Ashley appears unwilling to sell Newcastle outright but is looking for investors to share the financial burden inherent with owning a Premier League club. Singapore-based global investment company Profitable Group have effectively cleared the way for Ambani to approach Ashley by ruling out a takeover bid. “Yes, we are doing some promotional work with Newcastle but we’re not in talks with them about any takeover,” group operations director John Nordmann said. Meanwhile, Newcastle hope to sign Argentine defender Fabricio Coloccini from Deportivo La Coruna before the end of the week. Newcastle’s England striker Michael Owen is expected to miss the friendly against PSV Eindhoven on Tyneside but is being pencilled in for his first pre-season friendly when Valencia visit the North-East on Saturday. They haven't been heard for a number of years. The thing is, it would appear some people rather foolishly would prefer us to stick with Ashley, but if this bloke took over and is interested in the football, he'd blow him - and everybody else - out of the water. Complete no brainer.
