Direct result of a recruitment policy predicated on opportunism, as opposed to suitability and quality.

I can't remember the circumstances around his signing, what was the deal?

TBF he had the tools to make it if he wasn't such a dense mofo.

He was free.  He was scouted by Dennis Wise.  Says it all.

See, I would say giving a talented young player a second chance (as a free transfer) was an acceptable thing to do.

As Disco says, the issue was giving him too long a deal before his attitude/potential had been confirmed.

Him signing wasn't an issue, it was the 5 year panic deal being dished out to anyone that looked like they might be salable in the future.

baffling really, especially with inman only being offered a 1 yr deal

I thought Ranger got his 5.5 year deal when Williamson did? i.e. under Hughton...

What a complete horrible waste of oxygen this bloke is.

What is it with all these rape allegations?

On a serious note. What the hell is going on. I can't remember this level of accusation flying around 10 or 20 yrs ago?

is it now just being reported more? Easier to report because of positive changes in the justice system?

Is it that women feel more empowered to report such a vile act now?

or that todays generation of young men footballers feel that they are beyond the law? Over paid, over hyped, too far removed from reality to think they are above reproach??

Or  is it that they have such little respect for women? The wealth and status have gone to their heads?

Do the women behind the allegations have a part to play?

Is there anything in the point of view that some women cry rape? That they use this most vile of crimes as a weapon?

I'm sure footballers from a generation ago would have had "groupies", yet I cant recall such a mass of rape allegations.

Just seems such a proliferation of these cases/allegations now....

Anyone any ideas?

The police take this thing very seriously now, whereas they used to just dismiss it.
