Yup.. If history is anything to go by, we can expect him to bag a hatfull.

He notoriously plays for contracts... we should just keep giving him 1-year deals until 2010 !

You make it sound as if he's played for about 10 different clubs or something.

Well, he did it at Melbourne Knights, Croatia Zagreb, Glasgow Celtic, Leeds & at Middlesbrough.

If he does it this year, it'll be 6 times in his career... edging close to 10 like! :pow:

Another positive

With the international break we have nearly 3 weeks off which SHOULD see Martins, Duff, Viduka, Barton and Smith back to something like full fitness

Actualy, we'll have exactly two weeks but we should still see them back after that.

Always knew it was going to be a disaster signing him. The sad thing is, I'd rather have Alves or Mido over him.

Viduka was crucial to us staying up last season and will play a huge part again this year when fit.  As for Mido surely you are having a laugh...

obviously some people dont like Viduka because of his injury record. But when he's fit (when) he's still a top class forward and someone who will come in very handy for us. Like said earlier, played a big part in our revival last year too.

That said, he shouldn't be given a new contract.

depends on how many games he plays this season to be honest. and how many goals he scrores.

Regardless of how good he is, we can't have a player who only plays roughly half the games every season be a major part of our payroll.

Additionally, he'll be 34 in 2009, making him even slower and less fit than he already is. (I realize that movement isn't a big part of his game, but still.) Probably be more prone to niggly injuries too.

Unless he scores 30 goals this season, no to a new contract.

err, so what if he bagged 15-20??

its impossible to say at this minute wether he should o shouldnt be given a new contract. It will hav to be decided after 20 games or so.
