Would you want Keegan back now?

If Keegan was re-appointed manager, yes I'd support him and the club, but I'm not sure I'd be too impressed. This club needs to go forwards. Not backwards.

yeah, i'd be pretty skeptical of any new owner who came in and appointed him. is he doing that as a populist move or because he really thinks keegan is the best manager available?

the club admitted that none of them had seen Nacho so yeah, whatever the motivation behind the deal, they DID end up having to rely on youtube as a scouting tool.

even if he signed before anyone hit the search button ?

How would Wise know he was on YouTube if he didn't look first?

He told KK to look on there the day before we signed him.

"dennis, we are getting in jgnacio gonzalez as a favour to some agents"

dennis turns youporn off "may aswell have a look at him"

Who do you have down as saying "Dennis". I get the felling Dennis & Tony set this deal up together.

We're a Championship club.

Keegan has managed clubs in the Champions league and finished within an ace of winning the title, as well as managing England. He's also secured several promotions.

Out of interest, which manager do you think is better, available and likely to come here?

if it was one of the "finacials" i'd guess it was set up by jiminez alone.

That's fair comment, and us being relegated does change things significantly. I'd just rather leave this all behind. :undecided:

For me, it all boils down to the "fun ex-girlfriend but that was years ago" argument, which has been rehearsed time after time on here and other Toon boards. Time just to accept we had some good times, but that it's maybe best to just be on friendly terms now rather than being fuck buddies, let alone trying a further reconciliation and getting back together again.

What's done is done, what's past is past. New owner, new manager, new chapter. Please. :)

Yes would have him back in an instant. He plays exciting attacking football, he is a brilliant motivator, he inspires people. I find it unbelievable the crap he gets on this forum, do people not remember?

No, I wouldn't, because ditching Hughton when we are top of the league in October would be just about the most comically ridiculous thing this club has done in recent memory.  And that would be a massive achievement.  Can we please get through one season without a managerial sacking?  Please?

Congratulations. You get 1 pedant point for noticing the incorrect pluralising of the word "Club". But my point stands.

Keegan's CV is infinitely better than that of any manager we could ever hope to attract to this club at this point in time. Plus the football he plays is better than anything else I've ever seen.

I am not sure if Keegan's CV is better than anything we could attract at this time...........I mean him, Ashley & Lambias it just wouldnt work man.

Lets be honest here, even if Ashley sold the club and Keegan stated he wanted to come back under a new owner, we no longer have the financial pull to back his obvious requests for players.

We are currently in a financial meltdown and dealing with debts associated with past administrations of the club. Until we are on an even keel, we will be in no position to match the big boys, even if we get promoted this season, for a number of years.

To a certain extent, we are going to need to deal with recruiting lesser players at reasonable prices on low wages as well as developing our own youngsters. Keegan has shown so many times iun the past, wherever he has managed, that he is unable to adapt to these types of conditions. Classic example of this is his dissoltion of the reserve team the first time he was here.

The club primarily needs a quality coach/manager and if this means brweaking the bank to get him, do so. First choice for me would be Hiddink after his contract is finished with Russia after the WC.

No.

Its best for all parties if he never returns as Manager.

KK has his reputation back and I think thats a good place to draw a line under the working relationship.

I would rather it was just now left well alone.

Cheers for the memories Kev. :smitten:

I'm sure he'd be the first choice for most football fans in the world.
