I always had the impression that the Jimmy Bullards in football would jump at the chance to join a famous club after spending most of their careers playing for low profile teams. The 29-year-old is tied to the club until the end of next season but recent contract demands may be out of reach for the Cottagers. Bullard has enjoyed a prolific stint this term, scoring Fulham's only goal in their last four games whilst earning a call-up to the England squad. Hodgson has said he would like to keep his star midfielder at the club but admits that beyond January he is unsure. Ambition "We're still waiting to see what happens because he's got his own ambitions," said Hodgson. "I'm not party to discussions. "I think he is concerned the club can't match his wage demands and where he sees himself at a very high level and it is not certain that Fulham will be the club to match them." Hodgson denied reports suggesting the club had told Bullard he was a free agent in the transfer window, saying: "He has not been told he can leave in January, that's not true. Realistic "We're not trying to get rid of Jimmy Bullard," he added. "But Jimmy Bullard is trying to get a contract which suits him. "He's not sure we can provide that contract which suits him and as a result we have to be realistic. Larsson was good enough for Man Utd, McAllister for Liverpool, etc. Because we already have good Central defenders and don't need anymore, especially an aging one I'd imagine all he'll do is replace Cacapa as 4th choice.
