sempuki
IF Johnson signs would he be our quickest CM? It is that long since I have seen him play I cant remember that much about him. A snail with bronchitis and a hernia would be quicker than the current lot.

Gallowgate End
Newcastle United bid for City star Johnson Feb 2 2009 by Lee Ryder, Evening Chronicle NEWCASTLE UNITED have made a deadline day bid to sign Michael Johnson from Manchester City. The Chronicle understands that the Magpies have offered a fee between £6-8million for the England Under-21 midfielder. Surely he would have been included in the Shay Given deal no? Actually saying that if they're valuing him at £6-8 million then he's worth just as much as the most consistent Premiership keeper of the last 10 years.............. Man city had to sign Given yesterday to qualify him for UEFA Cup, so any swap would have had to have been put to one side as such deals take longer to complete. Thespence
Surely he would have been included in the Shay Given deal no? It gets messy with swaps that is why they are rarely done clubs prefer to negotiate one deal at a time
Shearergol
if he behaved off the pitch, i wouldnt sell for less than £20m - he COULD be that good. That's from a Man City fan. Righto

Thespence
many city fans are saying they`d snap our hands off if we offer 8m for him It is good deal for them, as they would be selling a player that does not play & had potential a season or so ago
Gallowgate End
Surely he would have been included in the Shay Given deal no? It gets messy with swaps that is why they are rarely done clubs prefer to negotiate one deal at a time Yeah imagine that our own board trying not to do everything possible to get that deal to go through. They have been totally and utterly weak regards getting the best possible deal for our most consistent performer and one of the best in his position in our league of the last 10 years. Man City are saying Johnson is going nowhere. Surprise that.........
sempuki
Published Date: 02 February 2009 E-mail Miles Starforth JOE Kinnear is hoping to tie up a transfer deadline day deal for left-back Daniel Fox. Newcastle United were today understood to be in talks with the 22-year-old's club, Coventry City. The former England Under-21 international, who started his career at Everton, joined Coventry a year ago from Walsall, and is rated in the £1m-bracket. Fox played under Newcastle's Academy director Richard Money during his three years at the Bescott Stadium. Kinnear was also hoping to rubber-stamp right-back Ryan Taylor's move from Wigan Athletic, with the deal hinging on Charles N'Zogbia's move the other way. Meanwhile, Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson was again linked with a switch to United.

Parsley
City are taking the piss a bit if you ask me. Johnson's barely played a game so far this season and with that and his drinking problem £8 mill's a pretty generous offer. Not to mention they've just signed De Jong and will probably buy 7 more £10mill+ midfielders in the summer. FFS

dcmk
This window has been shocking so far selling our best players and bringing in players who have not had a good game in over 2 years, so depressing. This Fox guy sounds a world beater.
